Good morning. I got my driver's license , even though I don't drive anymore. My eye doctor went as planned, I'm losing some vision from macular degeneration. I decided not to take the pill for heart disease. Thought of the side effects and not worth the risk!

Sympathy like. Have you sought out a second opinion yet?

Ohh my cat does that but it is usually in the middle of the night. She carries her little cloth ball up in her mouth up the stairs from the basement making that strange mew the whole time. She usually ends up with it at the foot of the bed. lol And when we are gone, she brings the ball up and leaves it upstairs to let us know that she has been active. Yes, they do miss their owners. @StarWarsGirl I am curious what your cat does when you are gone?

I love going to the supermarket and breaking the register(I saved enough between my free turkey, card savings and coupons to need a manager's over ride) My favorite cashier was on and she knew to put her light on even before she finished ringing up my stuff

Believe it or not, I trained and learned most of the trade myself by hand. But I have no certifications nor experience to work on "big data" systems.
Small data = less than 5 servers, single databases, single systems
big data = multiclustered (multiple servers farms), monstrously huge databases spanning multiple servers and even serverfarms, multi systems and multi nodes connecting and serving billions of hits per day.

as for your computer, your son should buy a hard disk dock. This allows you to connect a computer externally.
This way you can CLONE your older hard disk on to the new one.. and you do not need to reinstall anything.

Of course, reinstalling makes everything more efficient. But you lose all your personal files if you made no backup (and the old hard disk might die any moment, making you lose everything).

I remember those days. Everyone feels entitled to everything. The world has gone completely bonkers.

I might have mentioned to ship them all to a planet and it will be a Hunger Games style atmosphere today.

Luckily my son was smart enough to realize that he needed to back up all of his programs. He started doing 3D design and animating courses so he had a lot of stuff he didn't want to lose.

Funnily, I wanted to get into animation and modeling as well.. but my brain shuts down on a) heavy abstract programming b) 3d programing, 3d designs, etc..

Regarding your comment to Cesar, that is the most brilliant idea of the day. @Cesar R M , I think WDW is in desperate need of your expert computer services (I just got through reading a thread up in N&R, about the MDE going down for some hours). Please send your resume right away to the CEO, and tell him you're the solution to the computer problems; and while you're at it--tell him your services don't come cheap!

I just hope that they can do something about it, or I hope my eyes last longer than my body!

I also hope that researchers find helpful advancements in care, for patients with macular degeneration. The only thing worse than losing your eyesight down the road, is losing your mind. My mind already left me years ago!

Oh are you like those people on those extreme coupon shows? Some of them save hundreds of dollars--I'm always fascinated by those shows.

I actually like wooden spoons. My mother and grandmother always used them; and I guess I like working with natural utensils, more than metal ones for example.

My son took a 3D printing and modeling course 2 years ago. We have had a few of his models 3D printed. He then has taught himself to use Blender for some simple animations. He has fun doing it.
