Ugh! Disney's website having tech issues. It can't pull up any of my reservations. App not working either. Darn those IT guys. No offense @Cesar R M . Maybe they need you working for them?;) By the way, speaking of computers, ds13 repaired one of our laptops. It was running so slow to the point of not running at all.:banghead: He learned how to have it go through its systems and check for bugs. Learned the hard drive was no good. So for $54 ordered a new hard drive. He took apart the computer and installed it himself, but them realized we needed all the software installed. The computer didn't come with any recovery discs so I had to order from HP. No big deal. Under $50 for that. He installed it all and lo and behold he saved us loads of cash! Yes, we can afford to go to Disney now! He was also smart enough to save all his files from his programs that were on the computer prior to removing the hard drive so more kudos to him. Yes, I am very proud of my lone boy.
Believe it or not, I trained and learned most of the trade myself by hand. But I have no certifications nor experience to work on "big data" systems.
Small data = less than 5 servers, single databases, single systems
big data = multiclustered (multiple servers farms), monstrously huge databases spanning multiple servers and even serverfarms, multi systems and multi nodes connecting and serving billions of hits per day.

But thanks for thinking about me and the vote of confidence lol.

as for your computer, your son should buy a hard disk dock. This allows you to connect a computer externally.
This way you can CLONE your older hard disk on to the new one.. and you do not need to reinstall anything.

Of course, reinstalling makes everything more efficient. But you lose all your personal files if you made no backup (and the old hard disk might die any moment, making you lose everything).

In other news, we got a really big scare at home.
Our washing machine started failing.. and its the worst week ever (holy week, almost noone works for 2 weeks).
And we had full bags of clothes.

Anyway.. the repairmen came, checked the thing.. and warned my mother they could need to pick up the washing machine to the repair store and fix it.. which might take more than 2 weeks because of the vacations.
Thankfully they came, reviewed and it seems a cable got loose.
We're washing stuff right now and see how it goes D:
