Hopefully nothing more than that.

Thank you. Fingers crossed.
Car issues have been a bit ridiculous here lately...
First Youngest DD needed three fuel injectors replaced about 2 mos. ago. Then my fuel pump went out. Then DWifey needed new brakes and rotors. Now this.
I could have replaced the brakes and rotors on DWifey's car myself, but, she couldn't wait 'til the weekend. The fuel injectors are something I would probably never even attempt anymore.
As far as the fuel pump, they're all electric now and in the fuel tank. So, you hafta' drop the tank, blah, blah, blah. I once changed one of the old mechanical ones that were bolted to the engine block in a parking lot. Took me less than 30 mins. total.
A thermostat used to be one of the easiest things on a car to replace. 2 bolts and a gasket. Throw it in a pot of water on the stove and heat it up. If it didn't open, you knew that was the problem.
Ahhh...so much simpler then...! :cyclops: ;)

@Gabe1 fabric.com just sent me an email telling me they now have Cubs fabric. Not exactly the mail I'm waiting for:( I was hoping the polka dot that I have been waiting for comes back in stock soon.

I'd buy the Cubs fabric if I had a clue what to make out of it. Short of a quilt which I lack the desire to make at a loss of what I could create from Cubs fabric.

Is it Tom? One of my lunch ladies told me about that, and I was like . Staring at more rain this morning, I am thinking a little snow might be a nice change.

Obviously, the rain is getting to me. I need sun...badly!

Yes Tom. And he kept using that word significant and cush'n the blow with it will be in the 70's Sunday and Monday. As it will be my Birthday on Sunday I hope part 2 of his forecast will be correct.

Considering the seed I've had down for over a month sprouted today it would figure to get snow the next 2 days. Oy

Never saw that chalk holder thing before.

As a kid, I loved those pot holder loom kits. Made quite a few pot holders; they were actually quite sturdy and held up for years. :)

I liked those potholders too and they even washed nicely. 2 years ago at a Church Christmas craft show I bought 12 of them from a young woman who was cognitively challenged. Her aunt was a crafter and she also had on the side of the table a massive pile of potholders for $1.00 each. I questioned the price and the Aunt said she was delighted to make and sell them and earn her own pocket money and they always sold quickly and that made the young woman so happy. So I bought a dozen.

Clackers not really except for a few boys trying to hit each other with them, pot holder weaving kits can still be found in craft stores:), lemon up and chalk line thing no, tube socks sold well onto the 90s, notes yes just got a smart phone about 2 years ago

You are not that late to the party. I got my first smart phone in 2013. Once I had it I was disappointed in myself for not caving sooner, I really do like it.

I remember all of that except the gas price. That would sure be nice to see now. My Dh tells a story that when he was a kid he had sesame street colorforms and that one day one of them moved on their own. I think he said one character picked up a colorform phone and put it down. He then ran out of the room. He still says that it actually happened and didn't make it up.

:joyfull: :hilarious:

 ;)

Sympathy like. Are you in need a sling shot and a copy of 365 ways to cook groundhog? Stay safe

If we get all the rain and then snow with a drop in temps I'm going to hide for 48 hours. Put the truck in the garage and not look out the window. A gal only has so many coping skills ya know.

I'd like a Southern recipe for Groundhog jumbalya please.

Don't forget that when you factored in what salaries were then, you still couldn't afford to go on a vacation anywhere. I remember that period of time, as financially my worst time ever. That was just before or at the start of the Gas Crisis. Previous to that it was 29.9 for regular gas. They even had price wars back then and if your competition went down a penny, so did you. Now it just works in reverse. No one ever goes down in price, in a competitive way, but, magically they all go up at the same time.

When I was in college I worked in a gas station pumping gas and doing minor repairs. We had three gas categories, Regular, Supreme and something called "Plaid". The later was the "cheap gas" (2 to 5 cents per gal. cheaper). What people didn't know was even though there were three types we only had two tanks in the ground. Plaid was pumped directly from the Regular tank. I can't begin to tell you how many times I silently listened to people tell me that their car ran awful with Plaid, and it wasn't worth the savings. Fill it with regular please! OK, gotcha!

Yea, I had friends that added octane booster to their tanks. Probably nothing more than grain alcohol in a can ;), but, their slightly tricked out higher-compression motors did seem to run better on it.

I remember that church, too. Sort of. I lived not far from there when I was 6-9 years old. I remember asking my mom what drive in was that and why didn't we go there? You see, what was meant as a way to "join the service" from your car if the building was full, to my young eyes looked like a drive in. It was set up so you could have a speaker for your car, just like the drive in.

"May the Lord bless you, and go in peace."

Honk! Honk! Hooooooonk! Honk! :hilarious: :D ;) :)

Figgy does not pump gas:D. One thing I'll never get is charging more to pump your own:oops:

I don't know that any of them charge more to pump your own gas. Gas prices go how they go...with the market. I recently talked (I did a few years ago as well) with the guy at our convenience store just down the road. He said their profit on gas was 2-5 cents on the gallon depending on the "grade". The only reason they keep the pumps is that hopefully folks will also come inside the store to purchase other higher profit margin items.
I have zero problem with pumping my own gas. Yes, I am definitely old enough to remember the full service days when ya' ran over that cable and rang the bell, and they came a' runnin'...some places were like an Indianapolis 500 pit crew...!!! :hilarious: I just don't miss it.
It was just one of those old business models that was eventually doomed to fail...how many people do ya' need to employ to make sure someone pays for gas. Maybe just the guy at the register, when you're pickin' up a few things in the store, or nobody at all when your only payin' at the pump for the gas. :D
I can only imagine what the prices would be these days if they had a guy at the register inside, another guy checkin' your oil, another one cleaning your windshield, and one more pumping the gas... :greedy: :greedy: :greedy: ;)
