I have never seen 10 movies in theaters in one year, in no small part because of ticket prices.

For me, it's not so much that movies are pricey now in theaters, but I rarely go (maybe once a year . . .) because I can't stand how people in the audience talk to each other, while the movie is going on. Then there's the fools who simply have to turn on their phone, and the light on their phone (in the dark theater) glares at the people behind them in the seats--very distracting while trying to watch a moview. And there are those that have to leave on the ringer and then answer the phone and have a conversation!! :banghead:  For all those reasons, I don't like theaters anymore. I'll rent or buy a DVD of a movie shortly after it leaves the theaters and just watch it at home in peace.

Not sure if I like it. It's taking me too long to decide. Luckily, she's an attractive woman and would probably look good in anything. Also, I'm not even sure I the dress on the model either. I think the combination of dissimilar designs is competing too much with one other. I sort of "get" what the designer was doing, and I guess it looks a little better as an ensemble with the coat, but still not a major fan of this design. Next outfit please . . . :)
I Googled the designer (of course, I did!), and he's of East-Indian descent, now living in New York.
Given that I have spent the greater part of the past 25 years working almost exclusively with Indo-Canadians, I find many Indian-influenced garments to be very attractive.

Tickets here are $10 a piece pretty much. Sometimes higher, sometimes lower.

I don't mind paying that if I'm just going with friends and have to pay for just myself. But at a certain point, it becomes cheaper to wait and actually buy the movie.

I go to movies if one of my friends wants to go or if my brother asks. Or if there's something I absolutely want to see in theaters.

Like Disney movies. And Pixar movies. And Star Trek.
When I take my niece and nephew out, on cheapie Tuesdays no less, it's always a $50 night.

I'd like to start an urgent Fund Me.

I'd like to buy an airline ticket to Fort Worth or Dallas and get on the next plane.
I so want to sit in the Audience of the Gustine Texas school board meeting as parents demand accountability for the partial strip search of some of their boy and girl elementary school students even after some pleaded not to have to lower their underwear but were told they must to find who pooped in the gym. :banghead:

As a board member for many years this kinda stuff is a nightmare. You're the buck stops here and responsible for all these twits. The poor judgement to believe doing this to a group of young children knowing the overwhelming majority are innocent and you opt to humiliate them anyhow? I find it even worse that when the superintendent response to the parents demand that someone be accountable, "maybe we can find a much better way to solve this." So the district will go to the extent of strip search children and inspect their under garments but wants something better than accountability for the staff. His head needs to roll too.

Hmpf. That sentence made me want to be a silent observer in the audience.

Rant over for now!

Yep, been all over the news and talk radio down here.
Apparently, all involved in that idiotic decision are sharing a brain. And, an inadequate one, at that.
Morons.

I remember back in my teens, there was an old drive-in theater in the summer, that only charged $5.00 for a whole car-load of people! We'd cram a bunch of teens in the car and go watch 2 movies for about 80 cents per kid.
As few as 10 years ago, the boys and I would watch 2 movies at the drive-in for $7.00.
Kids under 14 were free, Adults were $7.00 for a double feature, $10.00 for a 4-pack on long weekends.

I would "smuggle" in our own drinks, and buy a tub of popcorn from the concession for $5.00.
I miss those days. Heck, I miss those kids.

I worked in a theatre. I saw families spend $100 dollars easy on food. My movie theatre had the traditional carp plus mozz sticks, funnel cakes, pretzels and etc. Plus side...free tickets though I didn't use them that often. I can't tell you the last time I saw a movie in the theatre. It's been more than 1 year let just put it at that. Ticket were $10.50 at the time.

Hubby wants more details.
Do you spread the mayo like butter? Dip it?
What kind of cheese? And how do you serve it?
yes! like butter (with a butter knife). and is the classic QUESO FRESCO. which is very soft.

other way to eat the corn here.. is actually boiling it, cutting the grains, and then eating with acid lemon and chili.

you can always google images "elote con queso"

you will see that even some add chili to the mayo and cheese as well.

You go more than I do.

Last year, I saw 3 movies in theaters: Frozen, Alexander, and Big Hero 6.

I have never seen 10 movies in theaters in one year, in no small part because of ticket prices.
Also, not many movies are worth it.
I seen a few ones.. but I honestly prefer to stream or go Captain Morgan.

I saw Frozen in 2013, so it doesn't count for my 2014 tally.
Frozen arrived to my hometown in the next year :(
so it counts as 2014 for me lol

funnily, some movies are delivered VERY LATE in my hometown.. other times.. we get them BEFORE it hits the US.

Marvel movies for example.. they are unveiled A MONTH BEFORE in Mexico. They have a huge following here.

THOR was a fine example of this.

but other movies, like european ones.. they even take 2 years to arrive (even when they're already in bluray)

Okay, I've already confessed to being a tech-dummy.
My iCloud is full. I cleared out 1.2 GB, but need 2.2 GB ... so, I ask Hubby if I remove my pics from the Cloud, would I lose the 2 years worth of photos from my first iPhone?

For once, he didn't know, and Google was no help.
Solution - 99 cents a month for 20 extra GB.

Am I not Apple's ideal sucker? Umm, I mean customer.
Why you dont download them into a local disk and burn them into a dvd-bluray?
you really need the photos all the time in icloud?
