Good morning everyone. It's March, and I just turned over my calendar on my desk. It was last set in February. Time flies! A short up date, DD can't get in touch with her attorney. She has tried for the last three weeks. We celebrated the oldest 14th Birthday last week-end. The hubby came along no one was talking too much That was enough stress for a week. This week-end we celebrate the youngest, another stressful week. We are getting high winds today. 55 to 75 mile an hour. The new Dr. said no more margarita's, due to high blood pressure. I now have a migraine almost everyday. I haven't had anything for a month and two weeks today. It was hard, as this was my way of dealing with migraines. Now I go to bed until it's over. I hope the kids can get through this phase.

Speaking of which, lately I have been making that a habit. Brief background, I mentioned having had an accident a few years back that involved my right leg. Short description, I completely severed my Quad muscle and associated nerve endings. Some of those nerves were not able to regenerate so I have a free range of motion in my knee when my leg moves forward. What that means is that movements that my leg make that would normally be automatically dealt with via nerves and brain do not send signals anymore. That is why walking down hill or down stairs is cause for concern. If I don't consciously flex the necessary muscles require to keep my knee from popping forward, it just goes out ahead of me which many times will cause me to lose my balance and make me try, sometimes unsuccessfully, to recover from it. A few weeks ago I bought a new pair of shoes, I won't mention the name because I don't want to get sued, and have had 4 such events that I hadn't had in probably 3 years previous. Of those 4 events I was only able to recover from 1 of them and the other three resulted in my falling forward in full face plant fashion. Happened twice last week. Once while walking in the Soarin queue at WDW and once again on some un-level ground in Universals IoA.

At least this time I was able to notice what happened previous to my fall. These shoes have super traction, so that when they make contact with a solid surface will stop instantly. That is a good thing when you are trying to stop, but, not if you are mid-stride, in order to recover I need to physically lift both feet off the ground at the same time. Because I am unable to do that, I fall forward. If the nerves in that leg had been active, it would have sent the signal immediately to the brain and the appropriate muscles would have reacted to prevent the fall. Having to think it out is too slow and therefore the needed action is delayed enough to create the situation. Tomorrow I will be searching for a new pair of shoes and these will become golf shoes where traction is desired.

End of sad, sad story! :)
I'm sorry to hear this story. I hope you found some good shoes. I've been off balance for a long time!:facepalm:
