Surprise that, right?
And, they probably cost at least twice as much as the better ones they used to have.
Just another reason we haven't bought any of theirs in at least a decade. Even the old decent ones were too expensive for our liking.

I've bought a few poncho's over the last several years, couple umbrellas too. My fault for trusting Weather . com

Their office space is oval and half of it is floor to ceiling windows. Only a couple offices in that sea of windows though. Most of the offices are on the opposite side. There is a sea of very nice large Cubbie Cubes out in the main area. They might not have an office, they might not have a door but they have all sorts of windows and things to look at out them. The yin yang of it all.

The whole of the space we occupy is rectangular in shape. All of our offices are on the perimeter walls, so have windows. The center area cubes have no direct access to windows.

If you really think that Fantasyland is a fiasco then I doubt that there is very much that you would think is good. I think it was beautifully done, with plenty of positive changes, two rides, added Dumbo, restaurant, and meet and greet show, and some of the best theming that they have done in years. Might have been better, but, it was quite and improvement over the 9 year empty lot that preceded it. It did lose one ride that was about as popular as a pay toilet in a diarrhea ward. Unreasonable expectations do not a failure make.

Too each there own I'm thinking. Me, I think the restaurant is the crown jewel of the expansion it is wildly beautiful and I do enjoy their QS (quick it is not) their dinners are still hit or miss.

Beyond that for the years and years of hype I'm kinda Meh about FLE myself.
Sure the Holy Rock is awesome to look at, very pretty. Dwarf I rarely ride. It breaks down so often and is so short to devote that much time to. I don't dislike it but I certainly don't adore it like I do everest. The Mermaid isn't exactly cutting edge, it isn't bad it just never Wow'd me either.

Disney basically recycled Mickey's Birthdayland/Toon to Circus. Barnstormer is by far the worst theming of the kiddy coaster of the 3 versions. (repeat of FW Figment, just keeps getting worse) Where Dumbo is pretty at Night I will not praise Disney for adding a duplicate spinner anymore than I will praise the creativity of adding a 3rd track to Toy at the Studios or a 3rd track to Soarin. Good crowd management but a Wow factor not so much.

Me and just my opinion Disney still has a giant disconnect from the Old FL to the FLE. They don't even attempt to mesh. That throw in the Tangled Potties on the tale end of Small World. Yes kudos to pretty potty land but the movie deserved so much more than that if Disney wanted to introduce that Princess to the land. So I kinda have to agree with @FutureCEO I've seen Disney do so much more with what was once Cast Parking. Hopefully they will get it right with the Studios.

Happy you guys had a nice day.

Very pretty building. Nicely done. Where you have always had that love of history, soak it up, me I have a low tolerance for it and that is shading me nicely. I did the Field Museum here with my family-the weather caboshed my Mothers Day Plans last year so we went for it. Dear Lord we were all on the same page. Now, put me at the Shedd Aquarium within spitting distance of the Field or farther up the road at The Chicago Science and Industry I'm in my glory. Boy I love that place.

A sheltered life I lived. I never know what half of the spanish terms mean on the menu descriptions. Liked how yummy your sons sandwich and youngest dinner looked but I've gotta ask....what the heck it that brown black stuff plopped on some of those plates? While it might be yummy but presentation and color...well I've gotta ask.

But boy oh boy I'd love to eat that avocado. :hungry:

It is funny how that shakes out depending on whose thoughts of who is given what amenities. There is a sea of cubbies out on the main floor, they are really nice and high ones, really offices without a door or ceiling-various sizes though.

DS spent about 2 months in a cubbie before he was given an office. Now he has a bigger office with his promotion but I don't see a window in his office until he climbs up many more ranks. Most windows shine upon those in the Cubbies. I did offer to get him this decal for his larger wall.

so.. ROL was a dud, just like wdw1974 predicted?

I guess night one went off just fine...day two it malfunctioned-badly. Badly enough for guests to walk out. Feel bad for the guests that paid the premium to eat at Tiffins that didn't get to see the show.

Right now it is difficult to watch the videos and tell if it is awesome or meh. Right now there are too many bloggers etc out there throwing their yeh or nay around to get an objective opinion. Give it a week or two and the more balanced opinions will say if they have an awesome show or not. Me, I swear that River has had a curse on it from day one-dang that was a painful attraction on the River back in the day.

I know that @Goofyernmost disagrees with the above, but I agree with FutureCEO and Cesar. Although I wouldn't call it a failure, my honest gut reaction was being underwhelmed by that area. It's "pretty" to look at and all, but as Cesar mentioned, Dumbo was already there. And the dark ride wasn't that great. Meet and greets aren't my thing.

Now, Seven Dwarfs is fun to ride, but I wouldn't wait in a long line for it, such as I would for Everest in AK, Space or Big Thunder.

In conclusion, while I find NF pleasant, it just didn't live up to the hype, in my opinion. I'm glad you like it, and I assume many others do as well.

Yep. I equate pulling any attraction/ride out for a meet and greet and minus.
But then again I'm disappointed about all the pretty fountains Disney has reimagined into planters.

  • Seven Dwarfs = too short,
  • Pathways = too big with very little detail, its also very dark at night compared to other areas of the park. They missed the opportunity to add more foliage and themed lightning.
  • Net gain of 0 attractions. It was just replacements and restaurants additions + M&G's

@Cesar R M I'm sorry I missed your birthday too. I hope you had fun at Cirque! I know you like Stitch as a character so here is a picture I took and now give to you has a belated birthday present!

Thank you, and dont worry.. It happens. Hell I missed @MinnieM123 's birthday too x_x
but in my excuse, I was about to travel ;)

And Cirque was very good, but holy cow.. almost 2 hours to get to the theater.. the traffic was insane.
It was a monstrously bad combination of:
  • Carnival in a town nearby (connected by the same 4/4 highway system to the airport, which reduces to 3/3 lane and Cirque's Arena where the highway is then reduced into 2/2)
  • The Arena section is where the highway is reduced to 2/2 lanes..
  • The traffic covered almost 16 miles long. Blocking most of the Airport traffic too.
  • Our uber driver had to go thru Ranchs and dirt roads to avoid most traffic, we still hit a 3Km stretch that took 40 minutes to clear.
  • We arrived 10 minutes late.
  • Piracy was rampant. Which is no surprise.. the official merch was outrageous (even more expensive than disney.. I mean.. a normal hoodie with graphics.. similar to the Oswald hoodie at Disney... was 150 USD in equivalent pesos.. the Oswald Hoodie was only 50 USD at disney!). The Pirated merch was 66% cheaper average and even the cops let them sell their wares NEAR the official arena.. go figure..
