No strenuous exercise is recommended, beyond walking, yoga, etc.
At its absolute peak, it's 800 calories/day. Very few people eat that much.
It is a ketogenic diet, meaning that fat is burned, rather than muscle - that is why urine is tested 2-3x/week. If you are not burning at least a +2, minor adjustments are made - usually the reduction/elimination of fruits.

When my dad got sick, I blew up like a balloon, gaining 40 lbs. I went on this diet then, and lost 55 lbs. I kept it off for almost 4 years, until I had my hysterectomy. Since then I have been yo-yo'ing like crazy; which of course is worse than just carrying around those extra 30 lbs.

I have a large boned frame, very broad shoulders, narrow waist, curvy hips.
My ideal weight is 140.

A couple of years ago, I weighed just less than 125.
When I joined the clinic last week, I weighed an astounding 188. Nobody believes me, as I carry it well.
My brother accused me of lying. Seriously, what woman claims to weigh almost 190 lbs, if it were not true.

And now that I have confessed my shocking weight, y'all are going to be subject to weekly updates.

You do carry weight well. From the two pictures, I can't see any big difference.

Even with a left handed can opener?

I am right handed and I was a left handed/left foot gymnast . Go figure.

My sister was going to be left handed and my Mom believed being left handed was a disability kept taking forks, toys, crayons, you name it out of her left hand (abruptly) and putting it in my sisters right hand until she conformed. Likely why she can use both. It is rather creepity when she was in a hurry and she'd be multitasking using both hands at once to do different things.

My DD was left handed until about 5 years old when she traded for her right, she was creepity too. She wrote everything in Mirror image. I saved her preschool stuff and everything she wrote you could hold up to a mirror and read. Still she was self taught to read and was reading basic chapter books like 2nd 3rd grade level at age 4. She was a spooky kid.

I have never used special left handed items (scissors, can openers). School desks were horrible...it was like writing sideways.

I can not twist a bottle cap...like marinara sauce with my left hand but I can with somethings like beer.

I always tell everyone that back in the day, I would get beaten up by nuns for being left handed.

There's an 8-week Maintenance phase, where regular food like pasta, bread, cereal, pork, milk etc. is reintroduced.
I think they claim 75% of patients are within 10 lbs of goal-weight at the one year mark - IF they completed the Maintenance phase. Those are unheard of stats.
Because of their success rate, part or all of the plan may be covered by some health insurance plans. Not mine, of course, but some.
You have a plan and that's important. Me on the other hand have none and just go with it. I refuse to give up bread and some days that's a big part of my 700 calories. I'm down 42 so I know you can do it. :)

My mom, on the other hand, lost 30 lbs when she went through menopause, and continued to lose another 2 or 3 every year. All of her adult life, she hovered between 130-140 (an inch and a half shorter than me, though).
By her 60's, her weight was in the mid-high 90's, and she primarily did her shopping in the girls' section.
When she was living with me, after my dad died, she weighed 92-95.

Her sister, Missionary Auntie, also lost about 20 lbs during menopause.

Maybe, I'll get lucky a couple of years from now. :p

Well lets hope your genetics are like your Moms side of the family then! You can probably look at photo's and figure it out though you were likely old enough to remember if she had to diet or if her weight varied 40-50 pounds. You'll see it in the photo's though if her weight varied. Look at her photo's like you posted where the first picture you have a very oval face and now now it is more round. By the way you look dang cute in that photo with your friend and look very young standing beside her.

I remember my Mom crashed dieted once for my wedding but after that she went to weight watchers and pretty well followed their maintenance plan for life (cheating here and there of course.) She still watches her portion size and at 80 years old still exercises everyday. My Mom came from a family of 12 kids and that Gran fed those kids a lot of starch to keep them fed, meat portions were small as was milk. Irish cooking is bluck to start with and overloaded with starch.

Me aside from my height I follow the gene pool more of my Dads side from a small frame, skin tone, weight, vision and allergies. Under those big, long dark dresses my Gran use to wear she was a slender woman but then again she was never a foodie. She was the Gran that taught me to cook and she did cook well. She believed in that food pyramid though she never put it that way and two versions of veggies were served with every meal to fill the tummy but there was either bread, potatoes or noodles with every meal but never ever both.

Has anyone heard thundersnow? Some people said it did it last year but I never heard it. I'm guessing it might do it this storm with 2 - 4 inches per hour. So exited. I can't wait! I should set up my camera. I take pictures every major snowstorm! Hopefully with 50 mph winds, we don't lose power.

We get thundersnow here from time to time when the temps vary a lot quickly. I have not heard it this year but did a few times last year towards Spring.

We also get HeatLightening when there isn't rain storms near the area. Heat Lightening messed with our life's.
Thor the radar detector at pools and parks pick it up as distance lightening and we had to clear fields and empty pools during meets even though we knew in minutes it would stop. That you must always be Safe over sorry rule.

I'm impressed. You've been sticking with it a while already. Woot! What is that like 3 full sizes of clothes? I admire your willpower, 700 calories is next to nothing for 3 meals a day. You go girl!!!

I had peromenopause in my late 20s and when I had my daughter (age 36) I had to have a full hysterectomy which brought on surgical menopause. I couldn't take the HRT they gave me so I just dealt with it. By age 40 I was done with the big M.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

Oh my word, the menfolk here must be cringing, except maybe the married ones.

Anyway, my hysterectomy was just cervix/uterus ... I got to keep my ovaries, as they were still functioning to a degree. My surgery was necessitated by a large fibroid tumour and extensive endometriosis.

Like you, Tammy had the whole works at the age of 33, just months after she and my brother got married.
Now that they're getting divorced, of course Bro is complaining that he forfeited his only chance to have children to marry her.
Just between us, I'm pretty sure that was God's plan. Not everyone should be a parent.

Same here on the large boned frame. 3 of 4 of us take after my wide-track pop.
Before I lost all the weight the first time, and after, we would take the kiddos to the rodeo every March. They had a carnival with a weight guessing booth (think Steve Martin in "The Jerk" ;)), of course. They never guessed it even close to correct. Always wayyy under. I was always so proud to walk away with my 3 cents worth of carp that I only paid a dollar for...!!! :joyfull: :D ;) :)

Yes, we had it during our last big snowstorm a few weeks ago. It was just a slow rumble a few times and that was it.
