Yep. My kids had some very sad news yesterday. A mutual friend of theirs for a long time was killed in a car crash the day before yesterday. Don't know still what happened but it was 3 cars, 3 dead, 1 car driver OK cause the semi didn't run over that particular car like the other two-just not enough time I hear for the semi to avoid the collision ahead. They were in route to a basketball game, her being a coach. School was cancelled yesterday. Horrible.

I hate winter.
That's not even worth a like. So sorry to hear that. :(

So I suppose that it would create little to no sympathy if I complained about it being 37 degree here right now, eh!
Now the definite sympathy clincher... windchill = 35 degrees.

Maybe not sympathy but certainly empathy. If I moved to escape harsh winters I certainly wouldn't look at 37 as acceptable.

I just pushed the thermostat up yet again and my plus'n the situation-the Sun is out and it isn't snowing.

The hard part to take about the (37) today is that yesterday, and I kid you not, I was out with shorts and t-shirt. The sun was shining and it felt almost like early summer. The day before it was again in the 30's, in fact during the night it hit 21 degrees. So 21 to 71 to 37. Nothing like consistency. It's a good thing is that those of us that transplanted from the north don't really differentiate between winter and summer clothes, just long pant vs. shorts or wind breaker or light weight fleece jacket. However, everything must be at the ready.

We have a feels like temperature of -13 and when the dog came in she was prancing weird. Her little paws got a little frozen. I felt bad for her, so I'm sure she was thinking what that little dalmatian in your picture was thinking.
We used to rub a little cooking oil on our dog's paws. The snow was less likely to stick. And if they licked it, it didn't hurt, and can help a dog's coat in the winter.
