Hee hee . . . I think all families do their own version of quaint, or sometimes silly vacation traditions. When we'd go on summer vacation car trips up to Maine, my father would always honk the horn three times, whenever we passed state lines of New Hampshire, and Maine. He'd yell out lame things like, "We're in New Hampshire, kids. Watch out for the cows." EVERY time . . . YEAR after YEAR . . . SAME comment, Same number of blasts on the car horn . . . (He thought it was hysterical . . . :cautious: )
That actually borders on real strange, but, if it made everyone happy, who am I to judge. :p

We used to take a picture at the So. Carolina Welcome Station in front of their sign. Don't know why except that it must have been in a spot that screamed for us to stop (or at least the 3 women riding with me). I have never seen the Florida welcome station at night as I have always gone through during the daytime (mostly mornings).

The Florida welcome center is more fun in the day too because of the free orange juice, it tastes really good there. I was so disappointed the last time we drove to Florida, we stopped at the welcome center about 15 minutes after the orange juice area close.

I told this story before but when I was a teenager, back in 1962, I went, with my parents to Florida. That thing that impressed me the most was the Florida Orange Juice that they served at the Welcome Station. Flash ahead 20 plus years and I was taking my own family to Florida and I, honest to goodness, could taste that OJ all the way from Vermont to the Florida boarder. I was practically drooling by the time we got there. We rushed in and all they had was Grapefruit Juice. I hate Grapefruit Juice. I have never forgiven Florida for that!

I am liking with this World Series that it's two teams that haven't won a World Series in a LONG time. I'm kind of going for Cleveland because I'm happy they defeated Toronto and Boston, but it would be fun to see the Cubs win (and would make Back to the Future off by just a year. :joyfull:)

As nutty as it sounds (OK, maybe not comin' from me ;)), that last part is the only reason I'm leaning toward the Cubs...
Although, as the old saying goes, I have no dog in this fight, so I'll be very happy for either team...! :)
