$3 more and way less chicken for the sandwich I like at Sleepy Hollow with the chicken and waffle :(

I've never had chicken and a waffle together--not sure if I'd like that combo. But it is aggravating when they raise prices on something that you like. At least if they raised prices, but the food was the same, it wouldn't be so bad. But when they cut back AND charge MORE, that's obnoxious!

@Cesar R M , that was a bizarre finish to your trip. My goodness, so many crazy things happened, one right after the other. Sorry to hear you went through that. :(

I was glad that at least, you and your mom could visit the Bonnet House and enjoy that. The photos of the exterior and grounds were lovely.

I watched some of the video of your plane departing for home, and that looked like quite a smooth take-off!!

Thank you for sharing the vacation you had with your mom. For the most part, it was a success, and now you and she will have your wonderful pictures and memories for years to come. :)

Wow that is an awesome striped Mickey planting bed.

What is the first sandwich? Looks yummy. We too like to see the President's their last year before the great shuffle after an election year. Out with one era in with a new.
It was the lighthouse sandwich at Columbia Harbor House, I loved it. I just love hearing the history of our presidents and what they had to face. Very serious issues throughout our history. It just goes, on and on.

I had it last year and didn't like it at all. So that doesn't impact me and hubby...he is not a fan either.

Just a quick note, we made it home on time and all was great. We went into the house, and had a code red alert from our police department, they we chasing a tall white male with a back pack, through our neighborhood. We noticed the interstate that we took to our house was blocked off with several trucks, police, and flat bed trucks. Didn't understand until we got home and saw the alert. We still don't know what went on, but we were told to stay in the house, and report any suspicious activity. Wow! That's bringing us back to the real world fast. We are fine, and after all this I feel like having a nice long sleep. Speaking of sleep, I think I've told you guys I talk in my sleep, the second night resting in bed, I listened to the Mickey and Duffy bedtime story. I loved the music between the story, I told hubby to listen to the music too. He was also a fan. To make a long story shorter....I kept saying, Duffffffy, Dufffffy, during my sleep. I have to say I woke up refreshed. Hubby needs to find the Duffy story book, and music (mostly the music to play before I go to sleep. ) Just like Peter Pan, I have never grown up! I loved teddy bears from childhood!

So I went with my Mom to Moretti's for lunch today. Everything around here is Cubs right now (the heck with the Bears playing Green Bay right now. a different saga) The Billy Goat restaurant rich with history from printed media to The Goat is famous for their unique Cheese Burgers. So I pick up my menu and look at the specials today on Moretti's menu:

I Ain't Afraid of Any Goat-Cheese Burger. :joyfull: :inlove:

Spent a lot of my young days here. Not far from home, could walk it. Best Thin Crust Pizza.
Started out looking like this and has taken over the building next door which has 3 levels. My Dad
loved this place too, but not for the same reasons I did as a young adult. This is where we had his
wake meal after his funeral.

Lighthouse sandwich looked yummy until I saw the word Hummus. Still looks pretty though.

I don't do the Presidents every trip and shy of a downpour never multiple times in a trip. I do enjoy it though. It certainly does hit the highlights of our history and the personalities of our current and previous presidents.

One year when I took my kids out of school for 2 weeks a kind teachers make up work for son was to go to both the Presidents and American Adventure in Epcot. Write a paragraph on each. And done. :)

Speaking of food before bed.. I definitively need to skip eating any kind of egg variants at night (even if I waited 3 hours).. that egg omelette gave me 10 consecutive nightmares and weird dreams last night.

In other news.. saw KUBO.
Sadly my stomatch disagreed with the popcorn and missed one of the pivotal parts of the storyline x_x

Rough night. Hope you're feeling better.

Good luck. Thanks for the good excuse to update my bathroom. I'm not a fan of the ceramic in my bathroom, so it would be a total demo job to change it out. Now how do I talk my dh into changing the toilet? Sledgehammer:D

Oh Joy! Memories. The bathrooms here got rehab'd completely. Other than the size, not too big not too small I hated our bathrooms.
And yes a sledge hammer was used to remove the walls and cast iron bathtub. The walls are now 3/4 white tile throughout the entire bathrooms including showers. Ugly shower doors gone. Everything went down to the studs, copper pipes installed and re-wallboarded.
All new fixtures, cabinets etc. And a jacuzzi tub (that was used far more in the first year than it has been ever since.) The floor is a classic black and white tile. I went for everything to be timeless. I can change out shower curtains, towels and decor but never want to live through bath remodels again, that was not fun. And costly.

PS- if you want a new toilet you don't need a sledge hammer. Just tighten the nuts at the bottom and eventually it will just crack. *ducks and hides*

Looks like a fun place. That burger doesn't sound too bad either.
