hey guys, found a decent video of frozen in time of the Oasis of the Seas.

note that this is the 2015 version, which has some changes.
like 2 "sand painters" instead of 1 of the newer version.
And more jumps and dance movements on the new version (also the removal of some of the lights in the floor)

That was nice. I scanned through it (didn't have time to watch the entire show), but it was very pleasant. I love skating shows. This was a small ice surface they had, but I think they found some routines that fit the rink size nicely. :)

To everybody on the eastern seaboard keep an eye on the weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mathew could hit anywhere between SC and Boston so keep an ear out. I'm making sure all the charge packs are charged and my freezer has lots of cooked items that can be reheated on the grill or camp stove. DH is making sure the kerosene can is full. Best case it goes out to sea and I'm stocked up

Thanks. I've also been keeping an eye on this one, but it's too early to tell where it will end up. (Just the other day I was thinking that I should check the batteries in my portable radio, just in case) Maybe I'll grab some charcoal for the grill this weekend; I'm out of that and had debated whether I'd barbecue anymore, now that it's October. But I think you raised a good point about outdoor cooking, in case of a power failure.

also, its my imagination or the supposed muppet show in the hall of presidents is new?
I just had some news alert about it on facebook....
And I had tough it was really a joke.

The Muppet show is new, just started yesterday. I watched a video that was posted of their first show and it looked cute. Most of the show was over the Heritage House right next to Hall of Presidents. In the show I watched Sam Eagle was positioned in a top window of the Hall of Presidents. I'm looking forward to seeing it in person in November.

I watched the new Jungle Book a few days ago, and I have mixed feelings. I guess "man" is the big bad meanie, because of the fire, and the fact that they hunt animals for food. However, I loved Bill Murray as Baloo, and I loved the entire scene with the snake. How do they get the animals to do all the stuff they do in the movie?

I believe that all the animals were CGI in the movie, it would be tough to get real animals to behave that way. I think I read or heard that most of the background was CGI as well. The boy was real.

I saw the still pictures posted here on wdwmagic. I'm trying to avoid watching the video until next summer, but I am extremely excited for this show. The reviews have been almost 100% positive - and given the great apprehension that was out there before it premiered, that's a very surprising thing!

Still a MUCH better situation than before. The guy who replaced me in the previous school has since given up and quit and they didn't replace him - so, in the space of 6 years they have gone from 4 full and 1 part time music teachers to just 2 full time - and with no reduction in the number of students enrolled in music classes, just reduced offerings and more kids per class. My situation is not ideal, but far better than what is going on there!!

*shakes head* Ah, that school system....

in other news.. If I had facepalmed on amazon.com for everytime someone answers a question with "dont know". I would have lost my head years ago to direct trauma damage.
I still dont get the logic. If someone asks a question.. its for those who know it. Not for someone to say a dumb "lol I dont know".
Its not like you're going to earn points for an useless answer.

:hilarious:
It's like they're bored or just feel the need to chime in for attention...
"I don't know the answer, but, good luck! :)" :cyclops:
Even something like...
"I don't know, but, I'm pretty sure @so-in-so does." Seems like that would at least possibly be more helpful.

High maintenance, men can be when they are sick. I got up this morning, and made an apple dessert and chili for hubby.

I've posted this here before a while back, but, when I'm sick (especially with something contagious, and, fortunately, haven't been for quite a while - knock on wood, my head;)) I go as far away in the house from everybody like an old dog and just ride it out. I don't want anybody buggin' me, and I don't wanna' "bug" ;) anyone else. :)

Well that can be kinda chilling-wonder what it is thinking about with that stare...:cyclops:
Mine will stare at me that way. Usually they're just keeping an eye on you. On a non-black cat the stares are never as scary.

Of course, if the eyes get too big, it could be playtime.

Sometimes looks can be deceiving. Like this one...

She's not hissing or anything. I caught her mid yawn.

So I mentioned over on the Muppets thread that two of my clients wrote the song being featured in the new show. In case you like that song, I wanted to introduce you to Valerie Vigoda and Brendan Milburn, a couple of absolute musical geniuses, as well as some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Here are some clips from their hit off-Broadway musical STRIKING 12, which is a modern riff on The Little Match Girl, just in time for the holidays (Gene Lewin on drums) - the second song is a heartbreaker:

I had a lovely Rosh Hashana dinner tonight at my aunt's home in Brooklyn. My cousins were there as well. Happy New Year 5777!

For anyone who plays video games, I recently discovered the Klonoa series. It's fairly obscure and VERY underrated. I have been having a lot of fun with the Gameboy Advance games.

Tomorrow is my first college exam (in math), and I probably won't have lunch as a result of my schedule! :/

SO, there;s some good news and some bad news. The good news is that my play Wonderland Wives won a couple of awards over the past week:
http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/best.../best-performance-as-a-talking-mirror-8689374

If you don;t feel like clicking on the link, it says:

"Buddy Thomas's raucous raspberry to childhood's best-known bedtime stories was neatly directed in its world premiere by Nearly Naked founder Damon Dering. If Valley of the Dolls author Jacqueline Susann had written fairy tales instead of potboilers, they might have resembled these second-act stories, whose heroines were all slatternly, marvelously grouchy, and mostly played by men."

That's the good news. The bad news is that just as we were about to start a Go Fund Me to bring it in to the NYC Fringe Festival next year, this was announced:

That's so frustrating. As a student, I have never understood why schools seem to think music programs are somehow less important. At our alma mater, if it wasn't marching band, it was unimportant. So frustrating.

That road trip sounds awesome! Did you go anywhere else in Cali or just Disneyland?

I've had to make those cuts and it really hurts. It isn't that we are heartless people (well some are but most are not). When you are building a budget that has about 25% less in local property taxes because the housing market crashed (still hasn't fully recovered) and the property tax dropped Then you have less federal and state funding coming in. Worse our state didn't even write a check for the 10% we were to get so even after we had a budget we had to go back and start cutting in more line items. Not fun. We took a lot of heat from parents, staff and students. It is difficult to explain budget building to the irate and just are not listening about fixed costs, bonds, union contracts, utilities, grounds and maintenance etc.

With us Sports really never got cut but the amount of staff stipend were cut, less coaches. I never understood it but for whatever the reason those Boosters were always able to raise large amounts of money between themselves and find sponsors too without selling cheesecakes etc. Their leadership in Boosters and committees were awesome. My kids were in both, Choral and Sports. Our Music Booster raised next to nothing in comparison to the Athletic Boosters. The leadership had two different business models, one worked better than the other.
