I saw that and wondered if that's true or a distraction. Never seem to know one way or the other until it's official

It was kinda' funny when I worked at the Disney Store with the rumors some Guests came in with. We were never allowed to discuss, speculate, or confirm without official written corporate approval.
Also, right after Disney purchased Marvel, I remember several guests coming in and asking why there was Marvel stuff in the Disney Store... "Disney now owns them".
I used to joke with them that "Yea, next week we're buying Oprah!"...!!! :hilarious:

Kind of an aside, but it also used to crack us up how many people came in and asked where Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Marvin Martian, etc., were...!!!!! :joyfull:

Agree to a point -- with fewer people at your college, there's a lower percentage (proportionately) of lunatics. I may be overly cautious and self-protective, but years ago I did live on my own for a number of years. Let me tell you, I had my guard up constantly--not the point of obsession--but definitely aware of my surroundings and aware of anyone who was walking, or driving, near me. Even just a quick glance around once in a while can be reassuring, and then I'd just go on about my daily business.

The most important thing is to also listen to that "voice" inside your head--if something or someone doesn't seem right, bolt out of there.

One of our old neighbors once said to us (military man)... "It's not paranoia, it's heightened awareness." ;)

Especially love the flight video. Everyone here knows how much I love to fly, especially takeoff...!
Sounds like y'all would have been better off flying ancient, but, superbly reliable DC-3's...!!! :hilarious: :)
And yep, any plane that's as loud as an old Boeing 727, with basically turbojets, as opposed to today's high-bypass turbofans, needs to be avoided if at all possible...! ;)
Ill take my chances on a DC10 or a 727 than a DC3 :P

Anyway my favorite plane will always be the A320.

Central Park Panorama:

Now, time for a lot of pictures!

DSC_5753_DxOFULL.jpg My mother dearest posing on the Fort Lauderdale port.

Yours truly. Note the weird tinting toward browns on the old Nikon Coolpix cameras that I had gifted my mom years ago and she still uses a lot.
BWtfn3y.jpg

The view above the Oasis was definitively gorgoeus!
You could see everything. Best part was seeing the storms hitting Miami and the everglades in the background (opposite of this photo).

Now have some more oasis pictures, a beautiful yet insanely big ship!

DSC_5758_DxOFULL.jpgThe pool areas.. Salt and "olympic pools.

DSC_5759_DxOFULL.jpgDid I tell you guys that the view towards central park is gorgeous?

The port.. the Carnival (Victory I think) was also getting ready to depart. It departed 15 minutes after the Oasis.

Opposite side of the ship.. Mini golf!

It was almost time for the Sailaway Party, so we decided to check out the rear of the ship, facing towards the harbor and right above the aqua-theater.
The interesting part was seeing a few gunboats blocking the way to smaller ships while the Oasis backed from the port.

The party started with a bunch of guys with flags.

Not to mention the Live entertainment in the center of the ship. My mother insisted this guy sang really good. I'll upload a video a bit later and you can later give your opinions ;)

Once we went away from the port.. We decided to travel thru the Central Park towards the back of the ship .. as It was time for dinner.
We had a MY TIME reservation at 7:45pm..

9OS1uyf.jpg

I can tell you that the first day in the main dinning rooms are going to be absolutely crazyness.
The majority of the visitors do not like to "Reserve time" using My Time, so they end making the lines huge until the staff start to accommodate them correctly. This was a trend that continued all the trip.
The My Time reservation line was way faster after the first day. But still, the average wait time was between 15 to 10 minutes.. with almost 45 minutes on the first day.

Compared to the Disney Wonder.. the main dinnig rooms of the Oasis look extremely outdated and boring. The look like my local outback but even less themed.
We ended in the "American Icon". The only real themeing was some weared down American car plates in certain areas. Not impressed.
The food and service was not as good either. The waiters were clearly overworked and the bread stale and cold. The waiters were still nice and attentive when they were in the vicinity.

After eating, We decided to return to our cabin to clean, shower..etc.. and get ready for Broadway's CATS.
The show was very good!. Its almost the full show of London with some minor cutdowns. Impressed!

So bad there was no pyro on the Mr. Mystoffeles part. .but who would have pyro INSIDE a cruise ship? lol

We returned to our cabin quite late! (the show was 3 hours I think). But we were definitively pleased by the show.

And yes, that is me wearing a Disney Lanyard. You should be surprised how many Disney nuts work on the Oasis.
We had one of our waiters from Romaine that had Stitch USB memory and a Stitch pin (he complimented my Stitch shirt. the one I told you guys I loved so much on my last WDW trip)

And thats it for now..

Next day is SEA DAY 1!!

Nope, doesn't sound stupid at all. DWifey and I have talked about the 4th child we never had, but, we have never dwelled on it. And, we agreed, mutually, based on the situation at the time, that 3 kiddo gifts were enough.
They are awesome kiddos, but, one has special needs, and as a few others here can attest, it ain't no cakewalk.
Sorry it wasn't a mutual decision with you and your husband.

BTW...
DS started his first real job at a local Salvation Army store on Tuesday.
Apparently, from the reviews we've been getting from his supervisors and the social worker, he's been doing great...!!!
This has not been an easy road for him, and never will be, but, as when we brought him into the world, we knew it woudn't be. But, he has always been so full of life...even the NICU nurses and Docs said that is the only explanation they have for him surviving in the first place...!
This is a major step for him...! :)

Awesome news about your son! Hope it keeps going well for him.

The pool deck looks lovely. I think I could handle relaxing in those chairs!

I remember one trip back before Chocolate World opened and you could take the monorail over to tour the factory they sold Hershey bars for 1/2 price. Slightly off center labels but who cared it was chocolate:)
I can't say I've ever been on the Hershey Park monorail. So many coasters, so little time. Oh, and the Claw. Although my friends said I looked bored on that thing.:joyfull:

I'm so tempted to post a video, but I'm pretty sure it would qualify as being political, so I shall restrain myself.

You might check out youtube Up and Down Theater's song "Make America Great Again" if you are interested.

Seriously?!?!?! o_O The fact that you think you restrained yourself is friggin' laughable. Nice try, though...
Again, PLEASE take the political carp somewhere else...we've been reminded time and again and again and again and again...sheesh!

I really enjoy flying. I really hate distant driving. However, take-off and landing, so not a fan-more the take off. Still the overall experience I really do enjoy.
