Cats are such a weird species. o_O Why? The Lure of curb is what?

That's a beautiful cat. I initially typed catch, guess I shouldn't be on this thread while listening to the Rich Eisen show.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Well, you've got two choices here:

If you go in September or October, you'll probably encounter lighter crowds the entire time. You'll have Halloween decorations and the option to do the events like Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. You might get a good discount or package for the entire time. Temperatures will be warmer. The parks will close earlier.

If you go in January, you'll get heavier crowds that should level off. Splash Mountain will probably close on January 3 or 4, and Kali may be closed, but other than that, stuff should pretty much be open. Most of the Christmas decorations should be up, and through the weekend, most of the Christmas music will be on, though they'll pretty much turn it off after that weekend. That weekend will probably be super crowded, but you might be better off with Uni if you're staying at one of their hotels that offers the free express pass. Starting on the 4th, Disney will probably start offering discounts and packages. The weather could be warm...or it could be cold. January weather in Florida has a mind of its own. And by cold, I mean it could dip into the 40s (5-10 degree celsius). Or it could be in the 80s (about 27 degrees celsius). Keep this in mind even for your February trip: check the temperatures when you're packing as you may need to dress more warmly. Parks will be open later for the weekend but will close earlier during the week.
Heck, I was there in November, and we had low 40's on 11/1 and 11/2. And I, of course had left my winter coat in the car at the Buffalo airport.
Weather is unpredictable anywhere, at any time of year!

The company that I worked for over the summer gave away trips to WDW over New Years. As I was sitting there in training, I was trying my best not to laugh as my boss says, "It'll be in the 80s!" I'm thinking, "Yeah, or the 40s. It could go either way." I think it did turn out to be in the 80s that week, but like you've seen, it could go either way.

Not a lot of snow here, but dang, it's cold!

I think your street is pretty. :) Are those mostly ranch-style houses (one floor or split-level)? The street I grew up on had taller houses (basement, first, 2nd, and attic). I prefer the look of the houses on your street--sort of sleek looking. I know nothing about houses, but I like the view of your street. The snow is pretty, too. ;) (Sorry, I love snow, and you know I couldn't resist!) :cat:

I can't recall how many years ago this happened, but one time, I went to WDW in February and stayed at Wilderness Lodge. One morning I was out looking at the geyser, and it was around 45 degrees. People were bundled up in sweaters and light winter jackets. The wind was blowing off the water, too; and I remember they actually stopped running the water shuttle over to MK, because they thought people would be too cold with the wind. They just ran buses that morning. :)

Yeah, me neither. I'm not sure what they're all talking about.
I have seen the Geico football guy getting coldcuts ad though.

Nope. Haven't even seen that one. What I do love watching is the Geico Gecko and the Geico Pig. I think they're both hilarious! (One of my favorites is when the Geico Gecko dances; he's down in Texas and doing one of those line dances. He's so funny!! :joyfull: )

The houses on our street were built in 1976; a mixture of semi-detached and fully detached homes.
Lots of 4-level splits, and raised bungalows. There are some full two-stories, and one single 5-level backsplit, which would be our house.
We've been here 12+ years, and I am quite ready to move. The timing isn't quite right, but for sure within the next two years.

You are more than welcome to the snow. My gift to you.
