And they have been at my local farmer's market since it started first week of June, with Mirai corn.o_O In the green mesh bags, so you can't really feel them. Now, personally, my favorite corn stand was along 67 in Wisconsin, through the Kettle Moraines. No one manned it, just a sign marked college fund, and it was on the honor system. Best. Corn. Ever.:hungry:

Cute! College Fund.

I've never had one bad ear of corn from Mira. Until this week my farmers market has not had local sweet corn at all. The husk is always bright green the the silk is always clear not brown. Me, I know nothing about feeling ears of corn nor thumping melons. Now Tomatoes, garlic, Zuk's cucumbers, pickles I can tell by touch. Others not so much without invading their skins. I have the same problem with fresh apples, some look so lovely and bite into them and mushy mealy. But don't try and fool me with grades of meat, I know what is what there.

My grandson works at a pet store, and I'm going to have to remind him to be careful what he carries home on his shoes/person. A great big giant ant went crawling across my bed, and I chased it successfully with my slipper. Dead ant! My grandson always stops by and talks to me when he comes home from work, and he has the habit of sitting on my bed. I am a big chicken. One insect in my house, is one too many.

Now, I will be a wee bit squeamish tonite when I am trying to fall asleep.

You lost me at the blue cheese dressing part. It's not bad enough that you are talking about consuming a hand full of leaves, but, now you are including moldy cheese, that has an odor similar to a used baby diaper, to go with it. :depressed: Thanks, I'll pass. Just hand me the bacon! :)

I can appreciate you disgust of my beloved blue cheese. I'm a big fan of real cheeses, especially Wisconsin Cheeses. I feel the same way about cheese substance fake cheese.

Wedge Salad WAS as specific salad like Cobb Salad is. On a menu if you ordered Wedge Salad it was known to be topped with Blue Cheese, Cheese Crumbs and fresh bacon. Now in dumb'd down restaurants Wedge Salad is like Buffalo Wings and Bang Bang Shrimp-you just don't know what you are really going to get.

The pet store has Ants?

I'm not a fan of bugs but I bring them in on occasion when I'm out on my lawn, sitting outside and other times they crawl on my pup and they piggyback on him into the house. If it was a Big Ant those are generally carpenter ants, likely from a tree or rotting wood. I have been known to go to my DD apartment to kill a spider for her.

Good! I've seen a few silly people drinking around the world. Nobody loud or obnoxious, just silly. The funniest was a group of you gentlemen wearing shirts with check boxes next to each country. They had checked off a few countries when it started to rain. Guess who didn't use a sharpie and had ink running down their shirts. A small bit of planning would have prevented that, one word Sharpie:D
At least at Epcot, you can walk away from drunk people. At a baseball game, you have no choice.

These guys were just obnoxious. The seats we had are the ones my dad's law firm buys, which are awesome seats right near home plate. Seriously, you can call balls and strikes with ease because you're so close. Anyway, because you are so close, you also have to be aware that 1. Fans sitting near you have paid a lot of money for their tickets. They are there to have an enjoyable experience. And 2. You are so close to the players that being overly enthusiastic, especially when your pitcher is doing his job, can distract them and actually impact the game. These guys were so obnoxious that the fans sitting near them, including my parents, nicely asked them to calm down a bit, especially when they were name-calling the pitcher constantly. They accused us of not being real Orioles fans and started taunting. And that's when I texted security. Excellent feature given that a 21 year old on a cell phone is not unusual, so I could be discrete. I'm keeping that in my phone for future reference.

Thankfully, these types of fans are usually the exception rather than the rule, at least for O's fans in their own park. You'll get drunk people, but for the most part, they aren't obnoxious. Except on drunk college student night. Which is why I don't ever go to drunk college student night. Not unless my parents have tickets, which are always far away from drunk college students.

When I told my husband about the huge ant, he suggested that Sean/grandson brought it home from work. Of course, all the men in my house think I am crazy to get so freaked out about one stray bug. Especially when the crickets get loose that Sean feeds to his pets upstairs.

I would think with the times of day you commute the "heat of the day" up where you live wouldn't be a major issue. During the summer here it's usually in the mid to high '70's when we wake up. When I go to open my car door at the end of the day in the office parking lot, it's usually like opening an oven door, and I have to step back for a few seconds before diving in.
Although, this summer it hasn't been as bad.
Seems like public transportation would be mostly optimally conditioned/heated when you got on without having to worry about it.
Anyway, you know me...I mostly love the heat...! ;)

It's a little different here in our heat wave up here. Mornings and evenings have been very hot and humid. And I have distance walks to and from public transportation; so while the transit, itself, is a/c, the walks and waiting out on sidewalks and platforms for the transit to show up is outside in the sun and gross. Sweat pours down my back with the high humidity and I start to feel weak. Can't wait for the horrid summer to end.
