actually, I suggested this weekend. since everyone will be out celebrating.. the usage of the server will be minimal. and since our email systems will be down...That really sucks. The could have planned it for a better weekend than the 4th of July weekend.
What is that red hairy stuff on the Ribs. That kinda turns me off to it.

Not sure why anyone would think that saffron threads are necessary with ribs. Ribs pretty much stand on their own, don't you think. Don't mind me, I'm old and stuck in my ways. Some things just aren't necessary in my mind.I think it looks like saffron threads.

I would bring back a suitcase of donuts and freeze them!Nope. Well, in the last couple of years the grocery store has sold round bread with holes in it and frosting on them that they CALL donuts, but they aren't REAL donuts and there is also not much variety. There are no long johns or custard/jelly filled donuts, nothing with the chocolate or maple glaze, no crullers or bear claws, or fritters. So...basically no...we don't have donuts.

I guess it's OK, just doesn't appeal to me personally. I'm sure it was fine.They weren't the typical ribs. They were fried and had a light breading on them. The flavor was like teriyaki blended with Thai chili. So I think the saffron is supposed to enhance the flavor.

Sounds like you had a great time.Spent the day in Houston at Wet 'n' Wild SplashTown with DWifey, DS (unfortunately, both DDs had other plans this time), BIL, niece, and one of her friends. Also brought DWifeys aunt along to visit with MIL (she lives with BIL and niece) while we were at the water park.
On our way back to Austin now.
Didn't expect much from this place, but, was impressed. It was large, clean, and had a lot of great attractions. It's no Schlitterbahn , but, it was a great time...!
