I tried watching Downton Abbey once. I didn't like it.
Thanks to my dad, skating (both ice and roller) is the only sport where my skills surpass Hubby.
As a kid, I used to skate 4-5 hours a day. My dad had to set up floodlights so I could skate in the dark.
Sometimes he would join me, but usually it was just me, out there by myself, for hours on end.
Quoting again, for a different reason. What wonderful memories you have of your dad. I think it's so cool that he gave the family their own private rink in the backyard.
What does "I like my toast crispy but not burnt say about me"
I never had any skills to speak of.I like that. Did you have figure or hockey skates? I loved figure skating; spins were my favorite! I could do a few jumps, too, but just small, unexciting ones. I wasn't exactly the most coordinated athlete . My balance preferences were a little funny, too. I used to always spin on my left foot, but land jumps on my right foot. Whatever. I had fun!!

Walter Gretzky specifically chose the family home on Varadi St. for its large, FLAT backyard - perfect for a rink.
I'd say it kind of worked out for them.
BTW, Walter still lives in that home.
Depending on how much I am out and about, I may drive by it dozens of times/week.
I think it means you're normal. You've passed the toast psychology test!
Yes, Walter is the world's most famous hockey dad.Bear with me for a moment: is Walter Gretzky the father of the famous hockey star, Wayne? (I don't follow hockey, but even I've heard of Wayne, who is a hockey legend, correct?)
I never had any skills to speak of.
I just went around and around, forwards or backwards .... No jumps, no spins, no fancy stuff.
And yes, I had white figure skates - size 8 since grade 7. Not sure I could skate without picks.
ETA: This pic is from January 2013, out on my cousin's lake.
I was such a scaredy cat, that I had to wear a man's flotation suit. At the time, the suit weighed almost as much as I did.

My sister made cookies for Christmas and brought them over. I had some on the first day but nothing after. Why?
The longer the cookies stayed together made the smells come together. Tthe mint cookies made the other cookies smell like mint so therefore I didn't go near them.
I've been playing songs on the bells at the top of the forums today, because I figure they'll be gone soon, now that Christmas is over.
Good thing James Earl Jones decided to be an actor.Male attorney's with deep low voices are less likely to win court cases with a jury.
So if any of the rides break down...Kid said Tim the Toolman Taylor was in the parks today. Had his photo taken with Buzz.
I hope you dont either. I have never had to but it sure doesnt look like fun.I hope I don't have to salt the sidewalks this year.
I embarrassed to ask but is that golf?Anyone planning to watch the Winter Classic?
Why?Watching the Epcot fireworks and now I realize why Disney can't have any good new rides.
Congratulations to Ohio State! That was an awesome finish!Nope, grabbing some lunch, napping, catching some Rose Bowl, napping (again ), ordering pizza so I can make it through all of.....

That's funny - I took it to mean that Epcot blew the whole budget on the NYE fireworks display, and now the cupboard is bare.
