I just checked us in for our flight. We leave tomorrow morning, and since we are leaving on my husband's birthday (his 40th) I decided to surprise him by upgrading us both to first class (just on the way down). So I needed to be on the airlines website right away in order to have first dibs on the upgrade. There were only 2 seats left in first class, we won't be able to sit next to each other, but he is in the row behind me. I haven't decided if I'm going to tell him today or wait until tomorrow. Ok, enough fooling around, I have to finish packing!!!!!!!!:joyfull:

Ummmm.....yum! I will have a slice of that and some cheese popcorn from Garrett's. Hubby is driving down to Chicago to take his nephew to a Cubs game, and I know he will bring back popcorn but now he might need to bring back one of these. He isn't going until August though. :(;)
Just have it shipped, and then your house can smell yummy when you bake it.

The Elk Grove one is halfway to my MIL's house. She usually stops and picks up a stuffed spinach on the way here for Sunday dinner. The kids don't like Lou's though. We have to order Domino's for them. Weirdos. :jawdrop:

OK. I hear some do not care for Chicago deep dish, don't understand that but still...Domino's???? There are so many wonderous traditional thin crust pizzas available. I look at Domino's more as a snack food vs pizza.

Glad your hometown is still the way you remembered it, and makes you happy. (I didn't care for where I grew up and was happy to leave!! Different strokes, I guess. ;) :p )

I can't say I wasn't excited to leave either. What 20-something young adult isn't? I have nothing but fond memories of growing up in my hometown but it was certainly out of my price range when I left home back then. But it is a charming town and the commercial area has changed little since I was small, the buildings are still there from the '20s - 40's, the theater is intact from the 20's. The businesses have changed over the years however the area is very much the same in the Uptown area (downtown was considered loop of Chicago.)

Over the years I normally zip through the fastest way to my folks home and out again. This week being there soooo much that I wish I could just put the car on autopilot I've had some time to look around. I think I've now finished all I have to do for my Dad's services this upcoming weekend and my Sis and family should have all arrived by Friday so thinking life MIGHT get back to somewhat normal after that.
