I'm taking the liberty to post the last of our trip pictures. Hubby downloaded them to my computer. Somehow, these are a jumbled mess. Forgive me, If I re-post. View attachment 146201

This pretzel was as large as the youngest grandson's head. He shared, I like Disney's pretzel's better.

This ends Universal Pictures.
DH walked in when I had the banana cake picture up, and told me to go back. I think he liked the looks of that one!

From what I understand, the post and rope fences are being put up to deter Guests from going near the water, not to keep alligators out of the water. How anyone could think a post and rope fence could keep an alligator out of anywhere is beyond me.
And, I emphasize again, once they set this precedent, there is no going back. If they ever took the "fences" down in the future and there was another incident, they would be toast.
As I've posted before, nothin' but knee-jerk BS, indeed.
I made that post before it was known that it was going to be rope or something loose. If it were a solid barrier then it was a bigger problem, to me, then leaving it out completely and just doing the signs. It was worded in some of the posts that it was to prevent the gators from getting up on the beach, which would have meant a solid barrier unless they put in a one way gator "door" in the fence.

I actually know where that is! A long time ago I dated someone from Niles and we used to meander over there to hang out and also grab deep dish pizza from the place a little northwest from there! ;)

Yes, Niles is just North West of my hometown, touches that boarder. Deep dish pizza from my town or Niles? DesPlaines? I'm struggling to think of which restaurant you landed at/where. Lou Malnati's in Elk Grove Village is maybe 10-15 minutes North West that is awesome and has been around forever and a Day. If I am guessing that is where you were taken to????

I'm figuring that some guests will use the rope to lean on, and dangle their feet in the water. I can for see more problems, if that happens.
Hopefully Disney will be prepared for the classic "oh no, I fell randomly because of my own stupidity. let's sue The owner's company!!" that some individuals (insurance money seekers, sue sue sue people..etc..) love to do.

By the way, the guys at David's DVC.. posted a new image of the Grand Floridian.
They are adding barriers and warnings in the "beaches" around the lake.
From nothing to overreaction? or do you think Disney is being smart now because they know some guests can be freaking stupid (like feeding the gators from the Polynesian huts)
I think is is smart. If you don't want people near or in the water, why make it look so inviting?

I actually wonder if they cant put mesh-like barriers on the beaches, not that high, just enough so people can see if a gator jumps the barrier and gets closer to the beach. (aka to prevent the gator from moving underwater slowly towards people).

I agree. The ice cream parlor on Main Street USA has always been a favorite of mine. Haven't a clue what kind of ice cream they use and don't care, because I like it. :hungry: (Good tasting ice cream doesn't always have to be some designer brand.)
It is just plain old Edy's ice cream. I think the view is what makes it so delicious.:hungry:

I would love to have all of them. Sorry for adding more depressing things. I'm going to seriously, keep family drama to myself. I hope everyone will forgive me. Let me know in Private Mail, if you think I should call it quits on here. Not asking for anything other than, yes....leave....no....don't leave. I will abide by those on this forum. I won't take offense . Just need to know if I've outstayed my welcome. Also, my posts for October pictures, will not happen, as other people are going to that venue also.
Wait! What? Why would we want you to go anywhere. And, if you are, why wouldn't I want pictures?!?!?!?!

That at least will cover Disney's butt regarding legalities.
Now lets hope noone pulls a Darwin and decides to ignore all warnings and go ahead anyway (We all know there are these kind of people around lol)
I think is is pretty much a given that someone will do something stupid like that. I am sure Disney has to deal with things like that every day.

In this case, it probably wasn't all that slow. The situation, as I understand it, was at night, after dark. No one would have been able to see it coming in all likelihood.
