I've been to WDW only 8 times, but, have never seen an alligator on property, although there must be thousands on that 43-ish square mile property.

I've never seen a gator on property at WDW either, I do look for them though. When I was a kid we would visit my mom's grandparents in Clearwater FL, and there was a pond near their home and there was always a gator swimming in there. So my parents wouldn't let my sister and I go in that area without an adult. We always went to a park down there too that had a large lake and some boardwalk paths and my sister and I always wanted to swim in the lake but were never allowed to, it probably had gators.

We've seen them.

Mostly baby ones. I've seen them over at Beach Club, at Animal Kingdom...and then one not-so-small one near Tom Sawyer's Island.

I've also seen snakes. One time, I had been walking back after a late-night Soarin' ride (EMH, so this was at least 11:30 at night) and there was one laying in the middle of the path. I walked around it and went about mt way. Last trip, a bird caught a snake and had its dinner. That was pretty funny.

While walking to DHS from the Epcot resorts, we've seen lots of wildlife. There was an owl one, perched in a tree near the boat docks. We've also seen bald eagles around there. One caught a snake one time. Snakes seem to be a favorite bird snack down there.

We've also seen turtles at Beach Club and in the lagoon at Animal Kingdom that houses Rivers of Light.

Florida is one wild place.

I've never seen warnings about wildlife there. Granted, I've only been there a few times, and I've never stayed on property before. But Florida or not, Disney seems isolated from the rest of Florida...like....there's Florida and then there's Disney. And Disney is this bubble where nothing from the outside can get in.
I feel that way every time I have gone to Disney. But, going to a gator farm in the 70's we are aware they are out there. We just take a flashlight at night. Nocturnal animals don't like light. Plus, at my age, I'm pretty night blind.

Thank you. UNI looks like fun. Different than Disney but still fun.
