Finally saw Zootopia last night. I really enjoyed it. I love movies that everyone can watch. And the recliners in the theater were super comfy, too.

Today's activity, waiting for my new range! The oven on the old one died almost 2 weeks ago. It is a good thing it is coming in, because there is only so many times you can have some variation of pasta, or something from the crock pot. I had thought I could use the grill, but it seems to be a thunder storm going on every time around dinner.

Law here I always had them out less than the maximum. It was against the school board policy. I didn't care and a board of ed elected official. As they got older it was harder and high school teachers were more difficult. My solution, I lied. I believed in family time and not everyone can bid and get approved vacation time over holidays or summer, sometimes adult schedules and student schedules collide.
Amazingly they never fell behind, they didn't start ditching school, both got good grades and both graduated from their Universities and have good careers despite all the gloom and doom that was projected my way.
I'm assuming you mean there are a maximum number of days they are allowed to be absent per year? We don't have that here, just that if your kid isn't in school and not sick, you get a massive fine. It would be a pretty hard sell to convince them that both of our kids were magically sick at the same time, for 2 or 3 weeks. You can fudge it a bit when it's just a couple of days, but the amount of time we'd need to travel abroad, have a Disney vacation, and then deal with the jet lag after coming back..there's no way they'd not find out. Plus, how do you get your kids not to tell anyone they just spent a week at Disney? If the school finds out, and they are bound to, you'd be in huge huge trouble. It's all well and good if you live in the US where you can pop over on a flight in a couple of hours for a long weekend, but not feasible from here.

Hopefully things get better for June. I haven't read any reviews or watched any video. I'm no the fence about watching the Jungle Book thing before we go. I will still see it live, but if it is really that bad maybe I should stay with my fast pass for it instead of going for the dining package for it. Hmmm, lots to think about.

DD's musical theater production this weekend. We went to the first performance. It was cute and DD did a great job as one of the narrators. View attachment 143791
My daughter did local theater starting at age 10. We went to every performance, no matter how many each show had until she hit college. I only went to see her in To Kill A Mockingbird once. It was just too hard to watch, and tickets were 35.00 each. She wasn't a lead, so it didn't bother her that I didn't come more than once.
I used to direct at the local "Family Theater". The stage set-up in your picture looks like the set-up I had for my younger casts when we did readers' theater. Our three narrators were called "readers". We started the program to help children with poor reading skills. It was amazing how much they improved in one show. I had several children go from bottom reading group, at school, to top group. Their parents told me that not only did their reading improve, but they were now confident and happy at school. One little boy's mom was so happy because he went from being the trouble maker to being well-behaved.
I gave every child, who wanted one, a part. They did have to audition to see which part they got. One semester, I had them write the plays. I did teach them how to write a script. They were short. Some wrote in groups. Others wrote alone. Then, they acted in each other's plays. Except for when we did the American Girls plays, we had the biggest paying audiences of all our shows.

It's #SunscreenDay Please celebrate all summer long! #FreeSunscreen #FreeSoftDrinks #FreeParking #FreeWiFi

Offering free sunscreen is a very cool idea. We are taking our middle school students on a end of the year reward trip to our closest amusement park, Valleyfair next week and the kids always forget sunscreen. At least a large majority forget it or only put it on once. So this would be really handy for reminding them to use it. I usually break school policy when ever we go and give kids my sunscreen to use. According to school policy we aren't supposed to give students any medicine, and sunscreen is included with that. But I would rather not see them fry to a crisp.

And @Cesar R M I am sad to report you were correct. Windows has hijacked my laptop and is currently forcing windows 10

Windows 10 hijacked my computer a couple weeks ago too. My computer isn't that old either, I think it had Windows 8. I turned it on and it automatically started installing. I don't notice much difference.

I'm rethinking our Tiffins ADR for JB. It looks amazing but at 67 per head OUCH I'm thinking of switching it to Y&Y because something tells me my boys won't be a fan of the portion sizes. That would also free up some money for my dh and myself to check out the Nomad Lounge. I really want to eat there but......... it may be better saved for when the boys won't be with us

Just my two cents, but I think that this sounds like a good plan for you. Maybe you could let the boys free in AK for an hour or so while you and hubby have Nomad Lounge time. It gives them a little free time and you an hubby a little free time too. Thatis if you are comfortfortable letting them roam the park for a little time without you.

I'm thinking we might ditch our dining packages too, keep the fast pass and do either Harmabe Market or Flame Tree and try to sneak into the Nomad Lounge. That way we get a little variety of taste.

It's also good for a midnight snack in the summer! ;)

Ha! I thought I was the only Hellmann's "purist" out there! :D I've tried many kinds of mayo, but to me, Hellmann's is the gold standard. :hungry:

Yep, Hellmann's is the best. I've tried other mayos too and even the olive oil Hellmanns and just original is best. Why waste money on anything else.

And let's face it, potato salad is just dang good anytime! :hungry::) I'm kind of regretting making macaroni salad for the gathering today. However I am making a type of potato salad. Hubby doesn't eat mayo based things so I'm making him German potato salad.

Gotta admit it was an odd throw in as support to the post
Right?

Like us guests getting to pocket the funds is even relavent?
When was Guests ever getting a split of cost savings ever in to their bank accounts ever ever a reality? That is what I was calling foul to. Im fine with disagreeing but I can't wrap my brain around disney putting money into our personal bank accounts
Never, it was a joke Gabe! However, I for one, would like to have the money spent on the place. You're right it had no relevance to the topic, it was just, what I thought was a humorous thought.

Not a fan of the tombstones here either.
Now there was an early attempt at a money grab, that didn't work at all. What a rip-off that was not just for the ruining of the entrance, but, the money spent to be immortalized until they tear it out. I took one look at the quality of the postage stamp sized micro chips that they used for it and thought... why would anyone other then the first innocent purchaser that was unaware of just how awful the image was going to be, ever purchase one. It appears that more then I thought that way.

so hopefully they cleaned the screens and added a new projector?
Because the last day of Soarin had them very dirty!
The screens were not really a big problem it was the old film method projection that cause the fuzzy look. It has been long reported that all the equipment is being replaced, because those old ones cannot be used for digital projection.

They still haven't gotten me. I keep reading the tips to stop it. Supposedly, if you make it until July when it's no longer free, they'll leave you alone. Their newest trick was to make the x the acceptance button instead of the close program. So, if you simply closed the box, it started downloading Windows 10.
the annoyance is, microsoft has been sneaking "critical" patches that actually are just crap to trigger the Windows 10 update. Even when you outright refused the update.

the screens WERE part of the problem.
Because they weren't even screens. It was a metal wall (with ribbets included and visible) painted white.
Maybe it wasn't apparent for you, but it was for me.

I actually liked Windows 10's new menu system (the start one).
A blend of the older Windows (7 and under) with the tile "metro" style.
but I still hate those stupid "congrats, your computer is now an android phone" type settings pages.
They are useless, waste time and need tons of clicks to do what was accessible easily in the control panel.

I guess your right. I'll take your word for it, because, like you said, it wasn't apparent to me. My theory is if it wasn't noticed by me personally, it wasn't a problem. Life is like that we are all only really concerned about what affects us directly in a negative way. :)
