Pretty sure they use more behavioral analysis plus randomization to select those people for screening.
Think of it like the "lie to me" series first episode.

I'm sure some of the people they select were targeted for specific reasons. In my case (just that one day only) and in the case of many others I've read about via these forums, all were just very nondescript people and doing nothing at all out of the ordinary. My guess is they probably have to keep some sort of headcount as well, and just pull anyone at times . . . ).

Were you in building 8? The first time we stayed there, the day after Mermaid opened, we were in the very last room as far away from the lobby as you can go. We would drive the car to the parking lot by the bus pick-up, and then catch the bus to the parks. The only time I walked it, I made the mistake of walking on the outside on the sidewalk. That did take me 15 minutes. I never did that again.
The first time we stayed there the plantings were new. It looks so different now with all the lush plants and trees going up through the Lion King. I can't believe how quickly the plants grew and filled in what seemed like a barren area. That first trip was the only time I didn't take my own linens, which made packing so easy. It was also the only time we stayed in the standard rooms. We really need two bathrooms.
We have to get a suite for my daughter, her dad, and me and a Mermaid room for my son and his gf of 12 years. They have lucked up every time and gotten a king room. Someone said all the king rooms were handicap rooms, but their room didn't seen like a handicap room. The only difference I could see between the king room and the regular rooms is that the toilet is a little farther away from the tub. I though accessible rooms had to have roll-in showers. There room had a regular tub and only seemed a tiny bit bigger.
There was a door connecting to the next room. Someone had said that they didn't have connecting rooms, but they do.
We have always managed to end up in building 8. It is quite a walk. The curvy path has things to look at, so it's okay. Just a long walk to start out in the morning.

Yep, we all have different preferences. I could go into a long diatribe about it all, but I'm not. No point. We love our Disney, but, there is so much more out there. We recently decided not to even do the Princess 5K again next year...! ;) Other things, like trips to Europe, and cruises (non-Disney) are being discussed.
My first visit to WDW was on our honeymoon in '88 at age 26. So, I've been fully aware of the changes at WDW in my adult life. We'll always all love our Disney, but, it ain't the only game on the planet. ;)
We opted for a cruise, like @Cesar R M. Going to the Caribbean , On RCL. We have done this before, but the Oasis Class of ships are really fun.

You made me think. I believe the city buses that service UOI just allow the students and staff in wheel chairs to roll on and take the care they choose. UoI is a pioneer to ADA accessibility and there are a great amount of students in wheelchairs, so I can't imagine the buses/drivers all that involved in their boarding process.
They are taking one gigantic chance if they aren't involved. The Driver is responsible for the safety of the passengers. If they are not actively involved with safely securing the rider and something happens, guess who is going to get blamed and sued and probably lose their ability to make a living. I have to think that would be a foolish thing to do.

So I was thinking (yes, it did hurt and I smelled something burning), if you were working the security line there, would you pick suspicious looking people who might do you bodily harm, or would you go the "safe" route and pick the nondescript ordinary folks? If I'm unarmed, standing in the heat all day, making a wage that's not worth risking my life over, I think I know which choice I'd be making... What do you all think?

I was picked for the special screening. I'm thinking, thanks, now I know I'm nondescript!;):D

Thanks, we bought into pre check, but there is a long line at our airport for it. Word got out, and a lot of people bought in. It's way better than the regular line. The bag check line is always slow. We will print the boarding pass. But DIA is very busy. It's one of the busiest airports in the country. We have learned to wait our turn.;)
DIA is...there are no words. I remember once YEARS ago, before we had kids, we were flying back here and we got in line for security and it was pretty much standing still. When the line started moving again, this woman and her daughter (about 9 I think) cut in line in front of us. We just kind of looked at each other but didn't say anything. The line stopped again. It started moving and we just passed them back and the mother starts really loudly preaching to her daughter about devils...how some people are just mean and do things like cut in line, and they are going to h.e.l.l. and we must just be in such a hurry to be so inconsiderate and not care about other people. I'm thinking...really? THAT'S the example you want to set for your child? YOU were the ones who cut in line and now you are going to lecture your daughter about how people who do that are condemned? You have now just told your daughter she is going to h.e.ll. Way to go.

It's crazy how nuts people can get when they have to wait. That's part of the flying experience today. We are going to the airport 3 hours ahead of time. We hope that will be enough time. If not, there is always another plane to catch.

It doesn't seem that it's random to me. My daughter and I sat down and counted the times we were selected in 8 days. We did a minimum of two parks and up to four entries--twice to MK, and she was screened 12 times and I was screened 14 times. If we hadn't gone to Uni four days, the Disney number would have been higher. How random or fair is that. I could not believe I got picked almost every time. The most mathematically improbable was the day I was screened all four times I entered the parks in one day. I wish I knew what it is about me to have this happen. It got to where I didn't want to enter. I told one of the guards that this was ridiculous for me to get picked every time I entered a park and that they needed a pin or something to give people who have already been screened that day. He laughed and said that they were getting t-shirts for that purpose. He thought it was funny. I didn't. At first, I thought it was because we were entering before or after the crowds, so I hung back a couple of times and made sure and go through with several people, and I still got picked.
How can other people only get picked once and I get picked almost every stinking time. Sorry. I'm getting aggravated all over again.
I also had to go through every time we went to Uni, but that did not bother me at all as everyone went through. Vent over.
Back to happy stuff.

Well, I joined that premium thing because dammit, after all the fun I have had with you guys on here, the very least I owe them is five bucks. Cheers anyway.

But anyway, did you guys see the news today? I may have been locked out of a hotel room naked, but at least I never did this:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/201...und-by-police-after-sleepwalking-into-street/

Awwww....my FIL has night terrors. He ends up banging his head on his night stand, or running into the bed frame, etc. He dove off the bed once and was throwing pillows at my MIL because he thought someone was shooting at him and he was "shooting back". But as far as I know, he's never run out into the street naked.
Also, that drink you have can't be meant for just one person!! It's as big as your head!
