Don't you love it when someone else does the cooking? That's my favorite part of vacation. We thought we are going to eat breakfast in the room. Hubby said no cooking, I'm great with that!
I'll most likely cook a few mornings and a few dinners at the condo on our water park days to keep down costs. Bit it will be very nice not to have to cook every meal. Strange but nice:joyfull:

Thanks! Yes, we both do! :)
And, I went with both daughters a few years later when youngest was old enough to join the Girl Scouts.
Just one of many memories we wouldn't trade for anything...!
I always had to take a family friend to the daddy daughter stuff. My dad wouldn't take time off for stuff like that. Heck, my dad wouldn't even take a day off for my wedding. He rearranged his schedule and swapped shifts so he could be there, but I can't remember him ever taking time off. I don't think he came to my high school graduation...I don't remember him being there anyway. He couldn't swap shifts or something...and I KNOW he wasn't at my college graduation...and I can only remember him coming to one musical I was in and he didn't come to my Senior Recital. My mom came to everything, though. But I'm betting your daughters appreciate that you were there for that kind of stuff, that you make time for them. You are an awesome dad.

So hubby and I have decided against Tiffins but we now have Tusker breakfast, dinner and a regular fast pass booked for the Jungle Book night show. We have to decide what to keep...what would you all do?

Well, fastpass is free. Would you be eating at TH without the show package? And did you have to give up any other fastpasses to get the one for the show? If you don't have to give up any others you really wanted, and you normally wouldn't eat at TH, I'd keep the fastpass to save money, but that's just me. If you would eat there anyway, it's not THAT much more expensive to do the package, so then I'd keep that so I'd have a fastpass for something else. How many nights do you have? If you are in AK more than one night, you might want to see it more than once. And how many times do they show it per night?

I've been able to be at AK multiple times after dark, it was 'a thing' for a short while. My curiosity is going to be the lighting intended for guests. The lights were very very low which seriously made you pay attention to how you walk. Most light came from waist on down but it did lend itself to beautiful views of the litup tree and Everest was beyond awesome. At that time the entire area of the Safari was sealed off so I wonder what the lights will be like in that area with living breathing creatures around. If you remember @betty rose will you have your hubby take a few photo's of the lights. I was there at dusk in 2014 and a few of the light poles guiding you out were pretty but I don't remember the rest and obviously the new for the areas we were not allowed in.
I watched a VLOG last week from All Ears and they talked about the lighting on the safari. They said it was really hard to see some animals unless they were right under the lights and there was supposed to be some sort of "sunset" which they said didn't look like a sunset as much as a spotlight. They said the overall tour was cool, but don't expect to see a bunch of animals if you do the safari at night.

I've often thought that AK at night would be a great experience. I've also wondered how it would impact the animals. Obviously, the Disney people (vets, etc.) have thought that one through; yet, my main concern is anything like a big splashy nighttime show--wouldn't that spook the animals? (Is it far enough away from the animals that it might not affect them?) I'm sure no one here actually has the answer to this, but again, I have thought about this and wondered . . . o_O

I'm a planner with lots of lists, but it's more general lists...like...I'll make fastpasses and dining reservations and just kind of fit everything else around that, wherever we can. I've got us doing rope drop, but then leaving the parks for 3 hours in the afternoon for a rest. If we need to and we're not tired, we can skip the rest. I don't want to be running or exhausted, though. We'll just kind of go with the flow....see the things we can't stand the idea of missing, and just see the other things if we have time. I think we'll be ok, but it's kind of hard planning, especially with all the newer things like Frostrom that we want to do, but that we have no idea how long lines will be. That will be a fastpass for sure, and I'm lucky we have two days, so I can do Soarin' one day and Frostrom the other. We'll have to see if we can hit Test Track at rope drop so we don't need a fastpass. But that is excellent advice to put in some flexibility...things WILL go wrong. I don't think I even did this much planning for my wedding and I tend to get a panicky feeling when I think about trying to plan fastpasses. I just need to keep it in perspective...it will be fun, even if we don't get to do everything. I'm subscribed to the touringplans thing, but the personalized plans aren't working well for me. It keeps scheduling me for times that the parks aren't even open. Like, it puts me touring in the world showcase at 9, but it doesn't open until 11. Or it had me touring Norway just after midnight when the park closes at 9 or something. And I type in a dining reservation with confirmation and how long we plan to eat, but it has us going to an attraction halfway through lunch. So now I'm panicking that we'll miss a bunch of stuff because my planning isn't working.

Good, you have a balanced perspective. :) Your trip will go smoothly for you, since you can go with the flow when necessary.

Here's something that baffled me when I was in WDW this week. Why do some people get a Fastpass reservation first thing in the morning for one of the most popular rides? I ask this because if you're there right at park opening, there's really no line yet. As I waltzed through stand-by queues, I saw people walking through the Fastpass lines at exactly the same rate of speed as the Stand-by lines. o_O

I thought to myself, they just wasted their Fastpasses. Can't see the point of Fastpasses until at least 9:30 at the earliest, but that's just my opinion only. ("Maybe" the only exception here might the be 7 Dwarves Mine Train--but even then, maybe 9:15 at the earliest for Fastpass.)

Our earliest fast pass is for 10 A.M. We manage to get in 2 or sometimes three rides. The less popular ones. Then use our fast passes. Have lunch and leave the park. This seems to work for us. We get out during the hottest part of the day.
