just keep whats new.. with the fastpass. Do not waste your time with dinning packages unless it is the full ROL show :O

I'm kinda happy that TH is among the offerings for dining packages if I had to go that way at some point. From appetisers, entrees to dessert I am not a fan of the offerings and I've seen a lot of those comments today. Hopefully they will broaden the menu a bit by the time I get down there. Heard they are fixing-tweaking the canteen's menu just like they fixed the original BOG menu not too long after their openings. We are all disappointed with Signature restaurants offerings. If I'm going to spend that kind of money for Signature it isn't going to be there. :(

not you, it timed out a few times for me. Perhaps a server "fart". (fart = when the server is doing background movements, like defragging, heavy processor loads, backups..etc.. or ISP side glitches)

I love when you talk techie. You speak, I hear blah blah blah. Kinda like the teacher in the background of the Snoopy Charlie Brown cartoons and am perfectly comfortable with the fact that I feel totally computer illiterate in your shadow.

I have done the same thing. I see a picture, and sometimes I have to make a trip to the grocery. It's lucky, that I can walk to it.

Can't believe how many times my dinners are inspired by this place or twitter. Sure my Gran's recipes still rule my dinners but I've learned to diversify over the last decade. But soon they will be put on the back burner as Grill'n season has arrived. :hungry:

I would love to have two weeks, I have to admit I would like to spend half the time between Disney and Universal. I want to see, Universal since I haven't been there. Daughter says it's not for me, I can't do roller coaster's. And I only see out of one eye, so 3 D is impossible for me to see. I would still like to walk through the park, as I have never been there. And some of the restaurants, look good too. Maybe a one day pass would be good enough. We are trying city walk to get a taste of UNI, pun intended!:happy::happy:

There is so much more to Uni than coasters. Yes they are some mighty E tickets there but there is so much more there to enjoy. And best it is new. New is always exciting unless you are playing that pro con list one theme park against the other competitors parks. They are not the same and don't try to be. There are plenty of low level intensity attractions between the two parks at Uni. Some of their restaurants are amazing and walk abouts resorts like the Portifino at night with a drink in ones paw is beyond charming. May I ask when the last time your DD and family visited Uni?

One thing I might suggest is to always figure in some flexibility in your schedule. The reason I say this is because when I was down there for 4 days, I had to try 3 times for Spaceship Earth (it was broken down for a few hours one afternoon). I ended up getting on SSE two days later, instead.

Another day, I had planned to hop on the monorail from MK over to Epcot. The monorail had broken down while I was in MK. So I ended up waiting for a bus to my hotel (Swan), and then I had to switch over to a Friendship Boat (they go between Epcot and DHS, with stops at the Beach Club, Boardwalk, and Swan/Dolphin), to get to the back entrance (International Gateway) of Epcot, for the evening.

Neither one of these breakdowns was extreme in my case, but for those guests who really do plan out everything for each and every day, I worry a bit for them. (Hypothetically, let's say I had an ADR over in Epcot, and the monorail from MK to Epcot was down. There's no way I'd make the dinner reservation on time, unless I took a taxi from MK.)

I really agree with the flexibility to plans. My DD is a planner. A spread sheet type planner type gal

When we did almost 2 weeks when she graduated we'd bail on part of our day often when weather or attractions were interfering with our plans. We'd drive ourselves nuts if we stuck to the agenda. But my DD agenda did get us on what was on our must dore were just a few nights we bailed early, we were tired, one night we saw the weather approaching after seeing fantasmic and were happy we went back to the resort. We just got up earlier than planned because our heads hit the pillow earlier and caught the rope drop in the morning again at the MK and Tonga Toast once more. Bucket lists and fate was nice to us on that trip. It was her graduation trip so I followed the leader with very few buckets on my part.

The trip before that I went down to visit DS, he got me on every must do by day two so the rest of the trip was gravy. I was there on the last day that the old Test Track was open, we rode her twice for a final farewell. I was there for the first opening of Circus, both night and day versions, very different. Rolling with it is just as important for a successful and enjoyable trip.

Actually, I didn't make it to any of the kiosks for food. I just wasn't in the mood for the menus I saw while passing by, (I'm tempermental about food, and also if it's hot outside, I don't like eating outdoors--no appetite). I was also there one evening, but since I had already eaten a few hours before that, I didn't try anything at a kiosk.

Another good meal was at the QS at the France Pavilion. I had the toasted Croque Monsieur, a soda, and chocolate mousse. It was all very tasty!!

Shhhhh.....one of the hidden gems. Food is awesome and reasonable. Just duck in there before a rainstorm actually takes hold to get a seat otherwise it is impossible during a downpour. We've road out a few storms slurping up some lick the bowl clean Chocolate Mousse with coffee and tea. :hungry:

So hubby and I have decided against Tiffins but we now have Tusker breakfast, dinner and a regular fast pass booked for the Jungle Book night show. We have to decide what to keep...what would you all do?
Just me but I'm happy we have the TH package. One less fp I'll have to worry about LOL $5 more than the regular dinner I can live with, besides it's all you can eat so I actually feel a bit sorry for Disney with my boys eating there:D

The first 3 days of our trip are quite planned. I've got it that way to knock out a bunch of the must do things and then except for ADRs we'll have time to go with the flow. oops now I have to squeeze in Behind the Seeds. I think I'm going to book an early afternoon right after lunch

Tusker still won't go for me, I still have not decided if I'll keep the tusker breakfast or go with tiffins. I told hubby the options but he wants to think about it some more. I might try for a fast pass one night too, then maybe I would drop the dining package. Too many possibilities.....
That's exactly my problem. I did manage to get a TH reservation this morning. I kept trying last night, but they were having technical difficulties and it gave me a message that it couldn't search right then. So I tried this morning and it was easy peazy, BUT it doesn't accept the dining plan. So I'll try for a fastpass and if that works, I might cancel the dining package. If not, I'll keep the dining package in hopes that the dining plan will be accepted eventually.

There's a glitch it will take the DP. Just like Fantasmic

3:00 am??? why that early?? D:
We have an early flight Wednesday. We have to get up at that time to drive to the airport. I've also been getting ready for rope drop. 3 A.M. is 5 A.M. in Disney, hubby and I take that long, with fixing breakfast, getting ready to be in the park for rope drop. The kids like to get to the parks 1/2 hour before the park opens. It's way to early, but it's only 10 days a year. Then it's back to sleeping in. :joyfull::joyfull::joyfull:

Good morning @betty rose. Did you get FPs for the JB show?
Good morning @figmentfan423. Daughter makes the fast passes. So I'm not sure. I suspect she did. She loves anything new at Disney, as we all do. I'm so excited to see AK at night. I've never had the opportunity to see it at night. Can't wait to see the tree all lit up! This is going to be a fun trip!

I'm a planner with lots of lists, but it's more general lists...like...I'll make fastpasses and dining reservations and just kind of fit everything else around that, wherever we can. I've got us doing rope drop, but then leaving the parks for 3 hours in the afternoon for a rest. If we need to and we're not tired, we can skip the rest. I don't want to be running or exhausted, though. We'll just kind of go with the flow....see the things we can't stand the idea of missing, and just see the other things if we have time. I think we'll be ok, but it's kind of hard planning, especially with all the newer things like Frostrom that we want to do, but that we have no idea how long lines will be. That will be a fastpass for sure, and I'm lucky we have two days, so I can do Soarin' one day and Frostrom the other. We'll have to see if we can hit Test Track at rope drop so we don't need a fastpass. But that is excellent advice to put in some flexibility...things WILL go wrong. I don't think I even did this much planning for my wedding and I tend to get a panicky feeling when I think about trying to plan fastpasses. I just need to keep it in perspective...it will be fun, even if we don't get to do everything. I'm subscribed to the touringplans thing, but the personalized plans aren't working well for me. It keeps scheduling me for times that the parks aren't even open. Like, it puts me touring in the world showcase at 9, but it doesn't open until 11. Or it had me touring Norway just after midnight when the park closes at 9 or something. And I type in a dining reservation with confirmation and how long we plan to eat, but it has us going to an attraction halfway through lunch. So now I'm panicking that we'll miss a bunch of stuff because my planning isn't working.

Don't you love it when someone else does the cooking? That's my favorite part of vacation. We thought we are going to eat breakfast in the room. Hubby said no cooking, I'm great with that!
