Understand, but giving Disney a hit in the face, can be fun too!
You know if there is one thing really sad about what is happening in Disney at this time, it is that all of us are ridiculing something that was once special to us. And the sad part is we don't even know for sure what is going on. We, (the collective we) have been told by a few individuals that it has all gone to hell in a hand basket and now all of us are laughing at (not with) a place that previously gave us so much joy.

I read the stuff that is being generated in the Rumors section and wonder what basis of knowledge any of them possess to really know how any of the rest of humanity will see things or even better, how they have all that truly inside knowledge about what is going on. All we have heard is how Disney has let things go to the point of nearly going broke (by having some of the highest earnings in the past 5 years) and how investments in China have caused us to suffer because of overages on the other side of the world. Yet, all we are talking about is how so much of WDW, for example, is closed because of renovations, upgrades and new stuff. We complained when they were doing nothing and now we complain that they are doing to much. We blame China for the budget cuts, when it could just as easily be because of all the capital expenditure going on in our own parks. Half of DHS has closed down and yet we see no reason why many people have been let go, laid off or whatever vernacular they are using. Like all those people should be kept on the payroll even though there is nothing for them to do. (and before anyone tells me how Walt would never have done that... do some research. He did that a number of times.)

Concern about high snack prices when the entire place has been famous for it's incredibly high cost for years now and somehow a .25 cent increase on a bottle of water is the turning point. If we logically think about it even the price we pay for a bottle of water at our local store is robbery because we are paying for something we don't know the source of because someone has convinced us that the stuff coming out of our taps at home is going to kill us. And it's just water!

The boards have turned into a place where we are free to insult people if their opinion differs from our own, like they hold the formula that would save all of humanity from itself. If their so damn smart how come they have the time to spend so much of it on a discussion board. Real innovators and savvy business people are out there getting rich with every second of their available day. They are in demand, no time for frivolous conversation in cyberspace.

Anyway, am I the only one that wishes I had never found a Disney discussion board so that I could with "a touch of childhood whimsy" once again look at what was once my favorite place with less then tainted glasses?

I take all the Disney criticism with a grain of salt. I don't read a lot of it because I don't like a lot of negativity. When I read reviews it is usually about a restaurant and then I'm more interested in the quality of the food, but I still realize that not everyone has the same tastes and I will choose for myself if it is something I want to do. I still have a great time at Disney, and the price that are being charged are still something I can budget for. If something isn't in my budget I won't do it, that is why I stay at the values and moderates.

I am still love Disney, and will still go as long as it is enjoyable to me. If people have a problem with it, that is one less person in my way. I do have a problem with the hub redesign because they took away the benches. Is it going to stop me from going, no, I'll just find another place to sit and relax.
