The edge was serrated. :grumpy: It went in a lot easier than me pulling it out. :(
I'm so sorry. My dad always fished, I remember those hooks. They looked horrible. I wasn't allowed to touch them. My dad put my fishing line together with a bobber. I remember catching one fish as a kid. I was proud though. I hope you have a topical antibiotic on hand. Like Neosprin. It's really good. Has fixed my boo boo's in the past.

So here's how my day is going. I'm sweeping my family room floor when I hear whirrr, click, click, click. Thinking it was a lego, I looked in the canister to take it out. No lego. I didn't think about it more and put the sweeper away.

Walking back into my family room I stepped on whatever I was trying to sweep up but I couldn't see it. Backing up because I couldn't find it I stepped on it AGAIN! By this time I'm on my knees feeling for whatever it was. FOUND IT! I yanked up my hand with a small fish hook stuck in my finger. :grumpy: Not happy. I think I'm done cleaning today!
Sympathy like OUCH!

I love the hot soft pretzels with lots of mustard and salt. That and a soda, may be a meal for me at Disney.

I enjoy hot pretzels too with mustard, the old fashioned, regular 'ole mustard. At Disney I also became a fan of the jalapeno and sweet cream cheese hot pretzels. Sadly I've been reading around the Disney Boards and social media that *poof they were gone.* :( I guess the regular hot pretzels are still available in a few places. Guess they got rid of that vendor. I wonder if it was the same bread vendor since there are complaints galore about the Tonga Toast at the Poly with the new bread from the new vendor. Bread sadness all around. :( Will be interesting to see which other breads are discovered to have been changed.

They do band, grandson plays in that, and sings in choir, and is really good in art. My only question, why does one kid out of two, seem to get all the talent? Oldest hasn't "found" his thing yet. He is a whiz at math, currently taking high school math. I would guess his "talent" will take him far in research or space. He seems interested in both.

Still they need to be committed to something beyond their classroom work. As Universities pull away from just test scores and essays many of the better schools are looking for well rounded students. Music and athletics are the most common but there are many other niches that are just as useful. Many top Universities look for patterns, they look for some consistency and dedication to something(s).
Universities have moved away from looking at community service as it became a mandate of many high schools vs a true peek at the applicant's.

My DD was a competitive swimmer for 13 years, swam also for her high school. Teaming was an attribute they looked for then and it nailed the long term dedication to something.

She also went that that civic minded route. The consistency there having a history of helping those in need.

-Volunteered at a grade school after school to mentor and help with reading and math-that teacher wrote the best college recommendation for her for both a manager role and for college apps.
-She joined student council and eventually was an officer, she started Autism Speaks awareness fundraiser at her High School which offset some of funds needed for special events.
-One of her best friends was in a wheelchair throughout school years and had empathy for her challenges. So my DD became a Special Olympics partner to a different athlete each year in high school.

Talent comes in so many forms. They just need to find the niches that appeal to them. It can be anything from debate, school newspaper, political campaigns, scouting (those eagle scouts rock), naturalists, so many opportunities to be something.
