I don't want to be a debbie downer at all but my day and part of yesterday was a huge downer to say the least. There is a controversy in our area about a sexual assualt (and I have/had respect for the assailant and respect for the victims as I had them in class) and then today I found out a former student of mine died tragically in a car crash this morning. Since I have these kids for three years, I get to know them quite well... :(
Anyway, my day did brighten when I came on here and read some of the Chit-chat. So thank you all for being a bright spot to me today! :)
Sympathy like. I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you can find some peace and happiness today xoxo

Just another word of advice....don't let them pick you up at your house, always meet them somewhere. I met my husband on a blind date and even though I knew he was a pastor I still didn't let him pick me up because you just never know. :)
^^^^^^This @catmom46 it's worth repeating a few times. And keep an eye on your drink even the family friendly ones, you never know!

I know! he's just going to have a bit of a screwy schedule for a while. The downside screwy schedule the upside a bit more money for the trip.
Always a silver lining, right? My work called me Monday when I was scheduled to work and told me I didn't need to come in because it was DEAD. Then yesterday afternoon they called me begging me to come in in the evening....8 people called in sick, and one was in the hospital. (she's home now and tired, but recovering) Then I got to work and they asked me to come in tonight, too. So first I thought I had a week off and I end up with 10 hours...more money for Disney!

Ok gang, so there really isn't a whole lot from our evenin' back at EPCOT, but, here goes...
We chilled a little longer at the resort than planned ;), but, got back to EPCOT a little before 7p.
We did nothing more in Future World, and instead decided to just cruise around World Showcase and have a few drinks here and there as we waited for Illuminations. It's actually pretty cool that all 3 kiddos are now of drinkin' age, but, none of them take it too far.
We all chose a few different adult beverages from different countries.
One of mine, just for @figmentfan423...!!! :joyfull: ;)

We settled in next to the crepe kiosk in France and watched yet another spectacular Illuminations!!! :joyfull:
No malfunctions this time, full globe, and everything else worked perfect...! :)
We then headed back to the resort and had a god night's sleep...it had been a bit of a long day...! ;)

Requisite SSE shot...! ;)

Thank you so much for sharing. My boys have a meal planned for there on our way in, I don't know why but it always seemed to get bumped off our list. This time we're going, I even tagged it as my younger ds' birthday meal so there's no turning back now. BTW as soon as they get up I'm showing them those pics

Hubby never put his laundry in the hamper when we were first married. I took care of that in short order. What was in the hamper was laundered, what wasn't, was left on the floor. Imagine how he felt when he had to go to work in dirty under ware. Never happened again! There are ways to work together, laundry in hamper, I do, not in hamper you do, the catch up and then put in hamper. Then I will do. It only took one week of this to change behavior.
I have to remind the kids that if their clothes don't make it to the laundry box, they won't get clean. Mostly they are good about putting it right in, but sometimes a jacket or socks are taken off downstairs and then I don't do it. If I see them set stuff on the couch, I'll remind them that that won't get done. MOST of the time now, they remember to put them on the stairs when they take them off so they will get taken up to the laundry, but every once in a while there's a "Mom, where's my purple track vest?" and then my answer is "Did you take if off downstairs and leave it on the couch last time you wore it?" It's a learning process.

I just saw a tip the other day...there's an app called ASPIRE and it's mostly to do with domestic violence, BUT, there's a feature for anyone who's dating. You can pre-program a message and if you tap the app 3 times, it sends out that message that you need help, and once you activate it, your phone starts recording everything going on in the room. It looks like just a normal app, so if the guy is a creeper, he won't notice what's going on...it doesn't blink or make noise or anything that would alert him to the fact that it's being recorded. It also activates tracking on your phone so police can find you.
Edited to add: I forgot to mention that if you have this app, and you are on a date and start to feel funny, like he maybe put something in your drink, activate it immediately. The drugs can work within 10-15 minutes, so if you start to feel weird, you need to act fast.
