yikes, thats some damage...

Impressive how that roof was pulled almost completely (I assume its roof insulation in the last picture right?)

I'm thinking this isn't the first Marathon that has pulled out of the ground similar to this style. I seem to remember PUSH posting one up in his area of a gas station that did something similar during a tornado. Makes you wonder about the engineering of these type of pump covers. They were nasty straight winds though, I understand why so many flights were late or cancelled.

The entire roof and insulation was ripped from a building with workers inside, the fire department told them they had to close until it was deemed safe to return.

I actually wonder, Can she even sing at the levels of Julie Andrews?
I remember reading that only Adele, Lady Gaga and Maria Carey can acceptably sing to the levels of her during Andrew's peak.

Boy I sure hope so. Those three could pull it off if so inclined. I'm not sure if she could. Julie Andrews is a hard act to duplicate. If you don't rise to her level you shouldn't do it.

I'm Bias though, I have always loved Julie Andrews as a person and her voice. Class Act.

I was due to get married in the UK and fly out for 3 weeks from May 23rd to June 15th ... wedding wise everything was booked.. photographer, florist, venue, church etc. we got stressed because my mum was kicking off at us for not inviting my step sisters (havent seen them in like 2 years, dont talk to them, dont even have them on the facebook) anyway, after weeks of stress with the guest list weve decided to get married in Florida.. not sure what we are going to do yet but probably the secret garden in Longwood.

So excited.

Fine. Then don't charge the adult fee for those under 21 choosing to stay with their parents.

Giggle. It is a perk that kids get to stay in hotel rooms for free. There is no law that says under 18 must be free. I think Disney and Uni would be more inclined to charge for those extra bodies 10 and up as they are using sheets, towels, water, wifi etc. When my kids were young we use to book via Walt Disney Travel Corp. They had a Junior rate for kids 10-17. I have not seen that in a while. Assuming everyone over 9 years old is charged the same as adults for passes etc. Many of the tours for Disney that accept all ages charge a 3 year old the same as an adult. Little by little the creative business side of Disney is charging higher rates for kids. It is all about the bottom line. Me, I was happy when Disney didn't allow kids under 14 into the parks without an adult. For a while during spring breaks and summer Disney had that Six Flags atmosphere with local middle school kids on their own.

I totally agree. I can't put my boys in a different room so why should I have to pay extra to keep one in mine!

At the Union Hotel at my DD university there is one queen sized bed. If you want 2 queen sized beds the room is double the price. I think we are all confusing what hotels opt as a private business perk for customers vs a legal entitlement. Why is a hotel room legally any different than admission to a theme park, a movie theater, a buffet restaurant? When my kids were older at POR we got 2 rooms, they were in the other. Done, still cheaper than a suite.

As consumers of course if we have kids we want to look for kids are free but it is a business trend in the hotel industry not a requirement. Simple business 101. As I said we used WD Travel Corp ourselves because of the Junior Price Structure. A Travel Company perk vs a requirement by law.

My Sister is an attorney. She is not required to represent minors for free if she is representing their parents. She does not. At the aquatics center where my DD works there is single passes, couple passes and family passes all with gradual pricing upwards. They are not required to let the children in for free because the children can't get in without an adult. They set the minimum age policy for admission to use their facility, their choice. Their policy. What makes a hotel policy and business different than all the other private businesses out there? I completely understand kids stay free perk but I don't understand why hotels are different than any other private business to set their own policies. My guess and it is only a guess is it is a private business and they get to dictate their own corporate policies. I could be wrong and I admit that but considering throughout Florida there are hotels ranging from 18 to 25 to register I'm guessing and only guessing that private businesses get to dictate age, appropriate attire, kids eat free or not and so forth.

Disney Resorts are owned by Disney. Swan and Dolphin are not. They have surcharges that Disney does not. Their policy. Their right.
Loews Hotels own Pacific, Portifino, Royal, Sapphire, Hard Rock and Cabana on Universal Property. Loews just like Swan and Dolphin on Disney Property set their own Corporate Policies for guests in their privately owned facilities. I guess I don't understand why it is OK for Swan and Dolphin to have the right to set policies and Loews not to have the same rights. As consumers we find what works best for our family needs of course, I did that too. Still I think that is being a proactive consumer vs believing it is an entitlement.

Good for you. Congraduations. Weddings can be so stressful, everyone who has opinions beyond what the happy couple wishes sometimes. I was married over 30 years ago and I payed for my wedding. Still family had so much to say. Had I not had so many deposits down and contracts we would have gone to Vegas and skipped it all. Our escape from it all way back then was the after wedding, Disneyland. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding in Florida. I'm sure it will be magical.

I am super excited. Was worried they weren't keeping the fireworks, and they were incredible.

This means I can spend an entire day a DHS just wandering around doing Star Wars stuff.
You stole our plan LOL. We have one day where we'll be going to DHS after morning EMH in AK(but we're doing a Fantasmic package that day) and doing another 1/2 day. Depending on how DHS works out we have another 1/2 we could go there if needed:)

@MinnieM123 are you supposed to get snow this week? It looks like it's going to be rain for me and snow a bit farther north. I really have been trying to send you all the snow, seeing you like it.

Think you need to work harder on sending me snow. The forecast is now trending toward rain. We might have a light snow/rain mix earlier in the week, but later in the week we were supposed to get a snowstorm. But with the warmer, yucky, unseasonal temperatures the past few days, it's throwing everything good off course . . . :banghead:

Are you sure it wasn't a state law type of thing? Because Disney allows it as long as you're 18, and I know most of the hotels in Ocean City allow anyone over 18 to stay there, so I would think there would normally be at least one hotel that wouldn't have that policy.
No, not at all sure it's not a state policy. No idea. I'm sure it depends on where you are. But I know it IS policy in some places...perhaps Universal is one of them.

I'm sorry but I really have been trying to send it to you! Do you really think I'd keep any of it for myself. That would be both mean and silly as I have no use for snow!

Have you ever tried draminie for the moderate thrill rides? It doesn't help me with Rockin or rides like Tea Cups or Mission Space but it is enough to take the edge off of many thrill rides for me. I always swallow them before I go to Six Flags.
Yes, I normally take half a dramamine (a whole one knocks me out, so I only take half) but I forgot that day. I can't get dramamine over here at all, so I'm planning on getting some when I get to the states so I can take some while I'm at Disney. But even the dramamine probably wouldn't help with things like tea cups or BTM.
