I get the 18 year olds and hotel rooms. Many are still in high school, my DD was. 18 is such a swishy age. Hotel owners have no idea when a reservation is made who will conduct themselves in an adult manner and the likelihood of bringing friends under 18 into that same hotel room registered or not is more likely than at 21. Underaged kids in a hotel room not related to the registered guests is an issue when things go wrong.
I feel like it's age discrimination quite honestly. 18 is an adult. There are 18 year olds more mature than 21 year olds. Adult is adult is adult. If an 18-year-old brings a guest who is not registered, hotel kicks them out. Very simple. And what really irked me was that I couldn't get my own room there...but if I stayed with my parents there was an extra adult fee. :bored:

How was it? I've thought about going there a few times, but usually wind up somewhere else instead. I hope it was better than campus food.
It was actually pretty good. It's Asian-Itallian fushion, which is a little odd, but it was good. It was nice because I ordered online and my order was ready when I got there. It took less than five minutes. It was much better than campus food. Well, at least our campus food. We're not known for our food.

Let's just say still not finished, which is why I'm now trying to figure out dinner. I brought lunch, but there's only so many times you can run between floors and still accomplish something in one morning.

There have been a couple setbacks which my parents are not happy with the contractor about. Namely, my parents had to hire their own electrician to fix what the electrician that the contractor had hired did.
I've had these kind of "problems" before, very annoying.
Specially when the contractor hired a guy who knew NOTHING and ended ruining many things :/

You made an excellent observation there. I, also, was immediately drawn to Figment the first time I saw him back around 1985 (first trip to WDW). Never saw, nor knew, what a "Figment" (purple funny creature) was before I entered that Imagination pavilion. I even bought a stuffed Figment in the gift shop at that time. Hence, your opinion about not needing to know a backstory of an attraction is certainly true, if the attraction is so well presented that it draws in the crowds, and people return again to enjoy it.
I think the character design has a lot to do.
I dont know figment nor have been to that pavilion. Yet I love the design.
Similar to how I am attracted to Chip and Dale and Stitch.
Love their designs and behaviors!

I actually Agree with Gabe, I think its a sort of protection because most of the time.. a 21 year old has a bigger chance to be financial stable and take responsibility if theres problems.
A 18 year old is usually seen as "party person who just turned old and into the wild side" by adults.

Ok, here's a random question.....Does anyone know if jello will set if it is made without sugar or does it need sugar?

The reason I'm asking is I want to try an earthquake lab with my 8th graders. The jello is the ground and they have to build a "building" using mini-marshmallows and toothpicks to withstand an earthquake. I have jello, but I am low on sugar in the house. I could hold off on the lab until Monday if I need sugar but if it will set just fine then I can do the lab tomorrow. I don't feel like driving 20 minutes to the grocery store for sugar and I don't want to pay our gas station prices. Thanks!
As previously stated jello doesn't need sugar to set because it's powdered gelatin (comes from the collagen found in bones) there are a few vegan versions made with food starch. Any hoo that sounds like a fun project. Enjoy

Quite a bit of the food in my house is Asian-Italian fusion. I grew up in an Italian neighborhood:)

@Songbird76 your kids are soooooooooo cute. i wish mine would have stayed that size sometimes.
Thanks! I sometimes wish mine were still that little, too. But then I'd miss all the wonderful things about them now. And I really can't say I miss the multiple meltdowns every day with DS. It's sooo much better after the Psychologist and you couldn't pay me enough to go back to the way it used to be, but he was awfully cute. Not that he's not now, but he's not my BABY anymore...he's a big boy...with a lovely gap in his smile because he's missing his 2 front teeth. And DD has mastered the art of sarcasm. She's so funny.

On top of everything else today I had to switch an ADR. It seems La hacienda doesn't have a gluten free fryer. Oh no biggie I got R&C for Illuminations:inlove::inlove::inlove::inlove: No tortilla chips boo. I don't need to have anybody getting tummy troubles!
What's R&C? I'm sorry you had to switch...but better not to deal with the stomach problems. I'm really surprised they can't accommodate you there, though!
