I liked both, but, boy howdy, it all could get so expensive...! :greedy:

Crazy expensive to ski in Aspen. But I loved it. I was so bundled and always moving, expensive boots, rarely got cold. But boy! did I come home with an odd tan to my face. I usually skied with sunglasses over goggles unless it was really blowing but that sun left some unique marks on the face with sunglasses.

My love of reading was killed in school, we had to go through the speed reading class. Why read if you can't take the time to mull over what the author is trying to say. Just made no sense to me. I got back to reading from a friend, she recommended Phyllis Whitney books. Unfortunately her books are almost impossible to find, after her death.
Here you go! So many of them just for you.

That's what we do now. Did a lot of hiking and camping, until I woke up one morning (after sleeping on the ground, in a tent. One half of my face was so swollen and my eye was swollen shut. Never camped again after that. It's hotels with a nice hot shower for me.

Eeek. I was camping in Wisconsin with friends, a storm kicked up trees falling, tent leaking and holding water atop. I was in my early 20's that was the final one. Hated it. I did a genuine wilderness canoe trip down the Wisconsin River when I was 15 and our Camp chaperone had a pistol under her pillow that I should have not seen her slip under there, reality check. We pitched tents on sandbars in the middle of river at night. 2 week of heck on earth at night, days were beautiful. I'm not into bathing and washing my hair in a river though. And as a Girl Scout I went twice, both times in icky weather. Never did that again. I grew up with nice hotels/resorts, this outside stuff isn't for me but I did try it multiple times and it is certainly in that never again category.

It's slicker than snot outside here. It snowed most of the day here yesterday. We went swimming, and there's a part of the pool that goes outside...that pool is heated, so even in cold weather, it's open...and of course as soon as the kids saw it was snowing, they wanted to go outside to swim, because what's cooler than swimming in the SNOW????

Is it a park district pool or a resort. We have one like that in a Marriott near Ohare Airport. As a kid I thought it was so cool, you had to swim under the window wall to get outside. Bet Lifeguards hated that.

Even over here, I can't get away from it completely...I still see it ALL over facebook. But I don't envy those of you living in the middle of it. Yikes. But....who said these are the best candidates within the borders? Those are just the ones who volunteered.

Yep. That is also why I said supposedly. There are reasons why people do not want to subject themselves to the Office. Don't want to put themselves through it or their families. After much prodding Colin Powell said no freak'n way. I kinda liked the dude. Another one I like but of a different temperament is former Mayor Giuliani. I liked his leadership during and after 9/11 and how he restored order to the area. I could make a list of good men and women from all parties that seem to have their act together but they have the common sense not to venture down that road. A loss of good tested leadership.
