Well I was wrong about not having a snow day. Our school closed today in anticipation of the storm. So did some of the other schools around us, although some are closing at 12:30. The snow is supposed to start here at about 11am. I got the text about the closing 5 minutes after I got up extra early today, because I was going in early to get some work done at school. I was already wide awake so I didn't go back to bed but since it is an snow day/day off of work I still decided not to go into work to get stuff done. Instead, I made hubby a nice breakfast and snuggled with the dog. Although I do have to leave the house today, the dog has a vet appointment (just shots) and hubby decided that I get to take her since I don't have to work today.

Our state in particular has yet to make any financial payments Universities and where they have it isn't close to what budgets are built on. Our state just didn't send the million dollars they allocated for our public schools here. Crazy. I did not worry so much about my kids living with me they were not an issue, I worried more they would find careers with their degrees. It took both of them a bit after interviewing a great deal to land in a career which wasn't a surprise given what the economy had done and how many governmental and private sectors downsized.
Side note: My son recently visited a public Univ. in our state. Loved the jazz program, great staff. And found out, had he applied by Dec. 1, because of his grades, he would have gotten a full ride. Yep, tuition, room and board. So, at first, I was upset about it. But, truthfully, because of state funds, I don't know how viable this scholarship is. We even have a few public universities that have stated if the funding doesn't come through, they may have to shut down, altogether. I think he will be better off at one of the private schools he is favoring these days.

Alright, gotta get this day moving. 3 concerts in three nights over here. And all three in gymnasiums. (Bleacher seats. My back hurts just thinking about it.)
And every time it starts to "rain", I can hear tinkling sounds. I am thinking the temp is dropping, and this is more ice pellets than rain. Shoot that groundhog!
