Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
I loved my years with the scouts...it ended on a sour note, but the time up to that was fantastic. I went to GS camp and learned lots of things like how to make tapered candles, and how to build a campfire, etc. And my mom was the leader of our troop for several years...brownies and GS. We went to Mount Rushmore one year (it's only about a 3 hour drive from where we lived in Wyo.) and there was another GS troop there at the same time, so we exchanged addresses and became penpals. Then a few years later, our penpals planned a trip to Yellowstone and we were all planning on going together, but it blew up because my mom didn't have anywhere to leave my brother and the other girls' parents didn't want my brother going on their daughters' trip, even though we'd pay his way and he wouldn't be staying in the same cabin with the girls. So it ended up that I was the only one who got to go, and then we just payed for our own trip instead of using GS money. But our penpals visited us on the way and we did tours of the buffalo ranch and the coal mines before my mom and I went with them to Yellowstone and my mom played tour guide, since she had been to Yellowstone many times before. Such a great trip!!

Yikes. Glad you still got to go. How old was your brother that so many parents wig'd.

I've been know to bring my own. I've read the rules about alcohol, and you can take one of those little airplane bottles on board in your TSA bag. Doctor said to have it, to keep the circulation flowing while on the 4 1/2 hour flight. I do this discretely on the plane, though.

I was trapped at MCO going home. I had left on DME with my Mug filled with coffee. Then my flight that was the last one out was delayed by ultimately 5 hours. Traveling by myself I kept having to drag my stuff with me. I went to the QS area bought a couple of Tiny Wines and poured them in my mug I had rinsed out earlier. Parked myself on the floor by the window (outlet) , dragged out my laptop and enjoyed my wines while waiting for the freak'n plane while playing on the forums. Upside the plane came eventually and I slept the whole way home. Good thing because by the time the airplane landed and I got home from Midway it was dawn.

Oh, more good news, bad news. The donkey jerk face (that has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? :p) informed me that he's moving out this month. But he's going for 75/25 custody, which isn't necessarily bad news because I just don't see him getting it when there's absolutely no basis for it.
That's wonderful for you and DD, she will be so excited. You both deserve to have a great time!

I hope you can be rid of him, and you and DD can get on with your lives. Why does he think he can have control of DD with no money? If he can't take care of himself, how can he take care of a second dependent? He still doesn't get the way life works.
