How fun is that! I'm sure you had a great time. I love events like this.
It didn't turn out as we expected.....it was an hour drive , that turned into a two hour drive....two lights not working in downtown Denver.....took for ever to get through those....then on to the zoo, still hope full at this point......another hour to wait on the street to get on the road to the zoo, another 45 minutes to get to the parking lot....all full, went through the lot 6 times, no places to park. We were tired and defeated by this point. Another two hours home, as the stop lights weren't fixed. We did see some nice home displays so it wasn't a total loss.

Good morning. I hope all of you are merry! I'm also hoping my shivering has led to a smile or 10 for @MinnieM123 it's only the 3rd morning with a hard freeze, not bad for Christmas week.
I so wish I could say that, @MinnieM123 would love our weather. We are expecting snow on Christmas eve and Christmas morning. We need a sleigh out here! (And horses), don't think my HOA would approve!;)

@MR FERRET and @MouseDreaming I finally did it. I earned my Beverly title as I made a gf/df/sugar free version of the magic cookie bar and the boys loved them. The hard part was finding a substitute for the sweetened condensed milk. I did it with soy milk, stevia and a bit of arrowroot powder. @betty rose I used Lily's df/gf/sf chocolate chips and they're really good. Not exactly cheap but very yummy.
So funny to hear this, hubby found these at a health food grocery and brought them home. I think they so great, it's an amazing find. (I've already consumed 1/4 of the bag , not in cookies!;):joyfull:

I almost never have a Christmas tree. I always go to their homes and since my apartment is small, there isn't a lot of room to entertain, especially with small ones and early teens there is no real need to put one up. Besides, I hate Christmas or, at least, the Christmas season. It seems to bring out the worst in everyone. My dislike started years ago when I had jobs in businesses that were "against the wall" busy during that season. Long hours, little rest, dealing with grumpy people, etc.

Now I enjoy immensely my time with my family on Christmas itself, but, the rest of the time I get nothing from it and pretty much cannot wait until it's over. As a religious holiday, it's fine. As a commercial one, it sucks big time. OK, that's my true confession for the year. Hopefully, it didn't offend anyone as it is my personal feel based on my experiences. I am glad for people that get a lot out of the season, just not me.
I have a love, hate for Christmas. I love decorating, making food for the day. I hate crowds, and the rush or perception of rush for the season. I love spending time with the kids, we do a puzzle, watch the Christmas shows and listen to Christmas music. No more going to see the zoo light's for us. I posted earlier about our experience this year. The Grinch stole our experience this year.;)

My mom just compared the cast members who worked at Walt Disney World to fast-food workers including the Character Attendants and the CM who worked as various Disney Characters Same goes for my dad, then again they don't know that much about Disney and the history of the disney or the Disney parks.
