I'm glad you got out of that situation and have a better partner. I can't imagine having to live with an ex once we had broken up, that would be torture. Especially if they were flaunting one night stands or a new relationship.

I think that if my partner hated Disney that would be a deal breaker. My husband wasn't a huge fan of Disney when we met but he had his own obsession (Star Wars) so he got how I felt. He was on the fence about WDW because he didn't have fond memories of his two family trips there, but I made (yes I forced him) him go on our honeymoon and he was hooked.

I'm betting it helps that Star Wars is now Disney. Not that Disney isn't amazing WITHOUT Star Wars, but if he was a huge fan, it probably wasn't TOO hard to convince him. Or was this before Starwars headed to Disney?

How can someone HATE Disney??? Is that even possible? I lived with my ex for 3 whole days before he kicked me out. We had agreed to share the apartment because neither of us could afford to pay the full rent or pay rent in 2 places..poor college students. He started staying with friends and came back after 3 days and said he couldn't live with me, it was too hard, but he couldn't stay with his friends because they were moving, so -I- had to go, but oh yeah, your name's still on the lease, so you still have to pay rent. It sucked at the time, but I really dodged a bullet getting out of it before we got married!

I hope you didn't pay a dime and sued him for any money you put into the place

I have no idea what his plan is. With my mom's help we were going to offer a pretty large payout just to get the divorce done quickly but his attitude didn't change plus he demanded Right of First Refusal which is if the custodial parent is unavailable to care for the child, the other parent gets first opportunity to care for the child. He wanted the time limit to be 3 hours which is ridiculous and most judges would make it overnight. He also balked at the child support stipulation we added that said if either parent decided to go to court for child support that parent would be responsible for the other's attorney fees. The fact that it's a problem for him indicates he was going to take our money and turn right around to take me to court for child support. So a payout is no longer on the table.

My lawyer wants him out as much as I do, so we served him with a 60-day eviction notice last week. If he's not out by then we obtain an unlawful detainer and then the sheriff will make him move out. Hopefully he'll get smart and leave voluntarily, though.

What a carpy situation!!! That sounds miserable. But good for you for serving him the eviction notice! Is that maybe why he sent the text about the food in the freezer? Vindictive move?

Just caught up to all the birthday wishes and I wanted to say thank you to everyone. Sorry it took me so long to catch up there! I'm working my way through. But it was a lovely day and I didn't have to cook, which is always a plus.

Lovely....what were the buildings in Florence? And did you see the "real" David?

The building with the "clone" David is called the Palazzo Vecchio (old palace) built in the 13th Century is now the Town Hall of Florence. The white/green buildings are part of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore built in the 15th century. They had another name for it, but, I honestly don't remember what it was.

No, the line to get in to see the "original" David was about 3 hours long. We were there on the first Sunday of the month when admission fees are dropped to zero. That brings half the country there for the day. Our tour didn't have that much time built in.

Today, we are celebrating Christmas early as two of our kids will be with their other parent this year on Christmas Day. We are calling it Grinchmas. Last night, for Grinchmas Eve we watched the original How the Grinch Stole Christmas and read an adapted version of 'Twas the Night Before (Grinch)mas.

This morning, we woke up to stockings and presents. For breakfast, we turned our pancakes into Christmas characters. And now we play with our new toys.

We will watch the live action Grinch a little later and make Santa Grinches out of fruit.

For dinner, we are having roast beast and Who hash and Who pudding.

This was before Disney owned SW. He did think Disney movies were good too, he wasn't anti Disney, just need a better park experience.

We have a lawn/landscaping bin. We don't do compost stuff here. Area found it bred rats and mice. Not worth the trade-off.

I don't know if ours gets composted or not, but I don't know what else they would do with it.

I'm pretty sure anything he does now is emotionally-based, even though he says he's not. If it wasn't, then the tone would be completely different, not demanding, controlling, or downright rude. Plus, he would be amenable to a fair settlement, but he wants it all. So how is he not being emotional in all this? Also, he claims he's only looking out for our daughter's best interest, but everything he does really only serves his own. And he has no clue that he's doing this. I've done a lot of reading on divorce websites and his behavior could be construed as alienating, which is a form of abuse. He thinks he's going to win in court, but I think he's in for a very rude awakening.
