When my BIL and SIL returned from their Honeymoon years ago, my MIL on cloud nine still had a present for her new daughter in law. She a pre-bought her a maternity blouse. I was there as the new bride unwrapped the present. What can one say to that? She made MIL wait a good long while, they had their first kid 6 years later. :joyfull:
Wow, I can't imagine a more rude present!

Not sure what the space configuration is in your room, but could a similar type of ramp on one side of the bed be possible for Walt? I'm wondering if something could even be made--maybe just a piece of wood with a cheapo remnant of carpet on top, so that he wouldn't slide if he walked up it. It could hook under the side of the mattress and box spring. When he got to the top, he'd only have to just step over the mattress. I dunno--maybe it's not the brightest idea, but just a thought.
We took our mattress and box springs and put them on the floor. We only needed a short ramp for Wiggles. What us animal lovers will do for our pets. Just about everything possible!:joyfull:

I like to be on time. When we head to the kids house, we leave early, and drive around if we are going to be too early. That's if we hit all the lights on green.

I am the same way. I always give myself double the time to get anywhere than I think I will need. (I know I am strange but I can't deal with rushing.) And then if I am early, I just drive around like you or take the kids to a nearby playground or, if I'm alone, sit somewhere and read/ listen to the radio.

So, if paper bags aren't good for tree slaughter, and plastic bags aren't good for other reasons, I would also guess that the bags you buy are made of some sort of heavier plastic and that must also add to the trash cycle. Hence, I have an idea for people transporting their groceries of other items home from the store. Time for us to use our heads! :D

I have a funny story relating to going and sitting in the car, before continuing to the kids house. It was after dark and hubby and I were talking away, not paying any attention. All of a sudden, two people opened the back doors of the car and got in. I thought we were being robbed or something, I turned around and screamed, and the older kids screamed too...They had got into the wrong car!:joyfull::eek: We now, always make sure all doors are locked when we just sit in the car. Lesson learned!:hilarious:

My sister is considerably younger than me and I used to tell her I remembered the day we found her out in the woods behind a big rock. She thought it was funny.
I think most older siblings have played some sort of practical joke on their younger siblings at some point. I have to be careful what I say to my brother because of his autism, but I've told him some tall tales before. One time, we were going to Disney, and I told him that they installed benches on the elevator at Boardwalk and made it like Tower of Terror. I don't think he actually believed me, but he insisted on getting a good look at the elevator anyway. And then he laughed and told me I was silly. Then later, I told him that there was a pool on the roof at Aulani. He didn't believe me, rightly so.:hilarious: I've cut down on the teasing since he hit puberty, though, because his anxiety level has been naturally higher since he hit puberty.
