I'm back to watching my corny Hallmark Christmas movies. I have noticed that many of them are set in San Fransico for some reason. (Most have bought stock footage of the Golden Gate Bridge in bulk.) And I'm seeing a lot of the same actors in them over and over...and a lot of them are Canadian actors interestingly. Nevertheless, they do have a way of sucking me in. Watching Christmas at Cartwrights right now.

I love the Hallmark movies, they all are kind of the same. There is a certain formula to them. But they are addictive, like candy.

It's Christmas at the Magic Kingdom!

Pot Roast Mac 'n' Cheese and BBQ Chicken (without the coleslaw) Mac n' Cheese from the Friar's Nook. Both very good, I think I liked the BBQ chicken better than the pot roast. The pot roast really needs some caramelized onions or some salt and pepper. There aren't any salt and pepper packets around, I would have had to bring them or walk to the Village Haus to get some so we ate it without.

On our way to Big Thunder Mountain!

We rode it's a small world today in honor of hubby's mom. It happened to be the anniversary of her passing and this was her favorite attraction.

At the Tangled bathrooms (why couldn't this have been a ride instead of bathrooms)

We had dinner at the Brown Derby Lounge (sorry for the dark pictures)
Mango daiquiri for hubby and a mojito for me
IMG_2762.JPG

We could see a little of the Osborne lights from our table
IMG_2765.JPG

We made a huge mistake eating at the Brown Derby lounge.....we shared the sliders. We really should have gotten our own helping. The duck confit slider was really good, we even liked the coleslaw on it. The other slider was a Wagyu beef with bacon.
IMG_2766.JPG

We shared the charcuterie board and we weren't sure what everything was but it was really delicious.

Then to the lights!!!

The Jingle Cruise overlay is very cute, and not overdone.:)

For some odd reason, I think the Christmas tree in DHS is a bit nicer looking than the one in MK.

It was our first time seeing the big tree at MK, it had never been up while we were there at Christmas before. So we liked it, but I do like the silver tinsel and santas on the Studios tree a lot.

Yes, I think ti's the silver touches that made the DHS tree pop a bit more in your pictures. Plus, I'll bet the MK one looked fabulous when it was lit up at night. They do such an awesome job of decorating.

I was thinking I might make a pumpkin pie for the day after Thanksgiving (since we're going out to a restaurant for Thanksgiving Day). Could never make a decent pie crust though, so I found some pre-made pie crusts in the supermarket's refrigerator section. They're from Pillsbury, and they're already made and rolled up in the box. So I think all you have to do is unroll the pie crust and dump it in a pie pan!

I already had a can of pumpkin in the cabinet. However, I did have to buy pumpkin pie spice, and a can of sweetened condensed milk.

Recipe says that you can put whipped cream on top of the pie when you serve it, so I bought a can of Reddi-whip. I wanted to try out the whipped cream, but I didn't have any pie at home, so I sprayed some on a Ritz cracker! Ha! It tasted yummy though! :hungry: Then I had a second cracker . . . and a third . . .. :D

Happy farm market Saturday. It's a bit sad knowing today will be the last day for the farm market until next spring. It's also small business Saturday for me, mani day, health food store and picking up of the birds and best of all I my dh has to pick up his gift to me:D the place is around the corner from the health food store. I sort of know what I'm getting but I'm not sure about the exact model. He had the owner of the store wrap it in plain brown paper for pick up.:cautious::cautious::cautious::cautious: He had me try out a few different models and then had me go to the health food store while he left a deposit on what he picked out. To be honest I'd be very happy with anything I could sew a straight line with about now LOL I hope all of you have a great weekend.

My farmers market left me a month ago, didn't even finish October this year. :( I am taking a tiny bit of solace in the ChristKindlmarket has opened a satilite market in the Western Suburbs of Chicago. It is an interest Market of German origin that started in DT Chicago 20 years ago. I was fortunate to hit the city on one day a year having to train into the city. So hopefully next week I will be able to visit the market that has some amazing German Foods, nice for winter. It is dramatically smaller than Chicago's but I will take it. Especially Dinkels Bakery.
