Hey! I've been there!! We walked halfway across that city! Have fun...there is SO much to see there. If you like history, the Conciergerie is one of my favorite sites there...it's where Marie Antoinette was held in prison at the end of her life. And if you are religious, I would recommend St. Germain de Prez...it's the oldest church in the city and it's not flashy like Notre Dame, but is impressive in a completely different way. I felt very at peace there just sitting and praying.

I love that, I ask hubby a question about anything and he starts with the "beginning of time", and goes forward!;);):D
Ha!! That reminds me of my dad. He's a talker, but more about people. I mention a person and he'll give me their entire family history. And one time, we went on a trip to Nebraska with him to do some ranch business and we stopped at Cabellas. As we were coming out, he spotted a car with a California license plate on it in the next row. He went and waited by that car until the people came out and just started talking to them like he'd known them for years. "So, how are things in California? I read in the farmers almanac...." My brother and I were horrified. (I was 14, my brother not quite 16)

It really didn't have as many pieces as it looked like in the package. Hubby loves to put things together so it didn't take him long. I got to ride and I love it. No hurt knees or back today. That never happens. Very gentle for a senior, or someone with back or knee problems. I'm all three!;):D:rolleyes:
Is it a stationary one? I was looking up what it was and I noticed in the workout thread that you said it was for indoors and I didn't know how that would work!

I never saw my Mom in a housedress, she wore those stretchy polyester leggin's with a seam up the front of the leg around the house.
My one Gran though wore house dresses most of the time. Even as she aged she made messes and then cleaned them up and repeat. Gave her something to do.
Yes, that's what my mom wore, too! She had several pairs of those polyester pants with the seam. EVERY day...I don't think I ever saw her NOT in a pair of those pants except at a few weddings when she would wear a dress, but I could probably count those times on one hand!

Try and feel better! It's a good thing I wasn't with you as he'd get a piece of mine as well
Wow...it amazes me how some people will make assumptions about a group of people without having a clue, which he apparently doesn't or he wouldn't say things like that. We took DS to a Psychologist this past year because he was having stomach aches EVERY night, moaning in his sleep and holding his stomach, but there was nothing physically causing it, so the doctor thought maybe stress as he's extremely overly sensitive. One of the things we looked at was high functioning autism. We opted not to have him tested as we don't need the label and if he DOES have autism, it's not bad enough that he needs a diagnosis to get resources to help. But he does have some traits of it. I would have a hard time keeping my mouth shut if I overheard someone saying bad stuff about someone who could be my kid.

I agree. The way he spoke about his girlfriend and what they do or do not do in the bedroom was absolutely in poor taste, especially since he wasn't even talking to his friends about it in a private location. I also think we need more seminars and such on consent in this country because clearly, our population is uneducated on that topic (and there was another girl sitting with him listening to this conversation and she was just as poorly educated on the topic, so the education needs to be for both genders). And then when he made the comment about kids with autism...ugh. I hope his girlfriend gets out of that relationship. For the most part, conversations you hear walking around campus here are about school and jobs, so this was the exception, not the rule, but, ugh.
Would you recognize him again if you saw him? Maybe if you ever see him with a girl, you could just clue her in. That would be worth more than giving him a piece of your mind as the GF would probably do that for you! And you could just sit back and watch the show and know that you saved her from making a horrible mistake by being with him. Although, she'd have to be pretty clueless to be with him in the first place if he's that much of a jerk.

It appears I will not be here tomorrow. We have fall break and DH managed to finagle a day off, so we are heading to Den Haag to the Omniversum to see Panda: the journey home. And possibly Mysteries of the Unseen World...or something like that. And I can take the kids to the cupcake shop my friend and I found a few weeks ago when we were in Den Haag.

Take a plastic bag and fill with vinegar, and hang it over the head overnight. I use a rubber band. The mineral stains are gone. I also do a vinegar and baking soda bomb blast for the drains. Equal parts of each about a half cup, and let sit for thirty minutes and rinse with hot water. Haven't had to use a snake for years on the plumbing.

I definitely need to try this bomb blast - our drains are quite yucky right now. :hungover:
