I'm not letting my dh watch the Chew with me today or tomorrow! After watching yesterday's show now he put Morimoto's on our list:hilarious: I might have to squeeze it in on our DTD day or maybe after one of our UNI days. He needs to keep his paws off my list LOL

I agree with your husband. I wanted to go before but after watching that segment, I NEED to go.

Haven't had a TS meal in WDW in many years. I usually manage to scrape together the money to go to WDW once a year; but I far prefer to use what money I have, for things like water parks add-ons to my parks' Hopper ticket, and maybe a facial, at one of the spas.

So for meals, I only use QS, or the Picabu cafeteria at the Dolphin. I budget about $55-$60 a day for everything--breakfast, lunch, dinner, and including treats like ice cream and any drinks (coffee, water, milk, etc.) But--I also bring things in my suitcase, like packages of peanut butter crackers, nuts, cookies, instant oatmeal (I use the hot water feature in the coffee maker in the hotel room), and Cup of Soup. There's also coffee & tea provided in the guest rooms at the hotel. I fully realize my meals method would bore the heck out of the foodies, but my goal has always been to just enjoy the parks, and also stay in a nice, moderately priced hotel on property, in an excellent location. Those are my only priorities.

Having stated the above, if I did have more money, I'd definitely go to TS restaurants (I'd love to try that new Morimoto Asia); or, I'd just go every other year, and spend more on dinners, etc. But for now, I'm just enjoying being a "kid" in the parks, and food really takes a back seat to me. Good luck with your ADRs though; I'm sure you'll pick some good locations for your family.

We have actually decided that next time we will get the QS plan, just to change things up. There are actually a good number of QS places that offer some unique items that we would like to try. When we are on the DDP, we only get one QS choice a day so we haven't had a chance to try all we have wanted. And with that choice, we don't want to take a lot of time to get to the restaurant, as we will be taking time out for dinner later, so we tend to go for what is close by. Also, it will save us some money which is nice but mostly, I just want to change things up and see if it doesn't lend itself to a more spontaneous trip.

Glad someone asked the question. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for their favourite QS restaurants or items.

They are shooting an episode of House of Cards over here today.

It's like a madhouse. Security is all over the place. Parking is mostly blocked off. I'm parked in a visitor spot and triple checked that it was fine. A lot of students have to park on the grass. It's pretty annoying to tell you the truth.

Well, at least the school is getting paid for this, which should help keep tuition costs down (and help fund my scholarship). And I'm going to want to figure out which episode so I can see...

I wish they would make a series called House of Cards against Humanity. That's what I think every time someone mentions House of Cards.

Indeed. He was a very creative tree hugger. I wouldn't want to be the one that took a chainsaw to one of his landscape designs. So freak'n talented. Wonder from above what he thinks of the new hub and the AstroTurf

Yep, one talented guy! :)

I still love the fact, which I've read before, that he did things like planting orange trees upside down at Disneyland's Jungle Cruise to resemble mangroves...! :joyfull: :)

That is one of the best feelings in the world, isn't it? When you are all cozy in your house, smelling the turkey cooking. It feels so peaceful. Probably because there is nowhere else to be.
Last year my ex barbecued our turkey outside. No smelling that inside. It was an 18 pound turkey for three people (my ex gets one from work) so I had plenty of leftovers to smell cooking through the year. :) I do love smelling pumpkin pie cooking.

We are SOOOO blessed. Normally, hubby's don't roll over, but he talked to his boss about next summer's big vacation and they are very understanding of the fact that my father is elderly and we don't get back very often, so they are willing to let him roll them over this year and they are letting him take all 5 weeks of his regular vacation at once. Normally you can only take up to 3 weeks at one time. So he will take those 5 weeks, roll over what he has left into next year for stuff like school things he doesn't want to miss, etc, and the bosses have already okayed it. I'm so glad he works for a small family-owned business that is flexible like that!

Yep, my firm is pretty small, and flexible, too.
There are only 25 of us total, 4 of those being partners.
Everybody knows everybody. :)

Sometimes his schedule gets like that at least I'll be able to get more done around here for the next few days and when he goes back I'll put the house back in order. BTW after going through all the stuff our former neighbor left us we only need one small piece of wood to finish off the dining room YEA! Now off to start measuring the bathroom :hungover:

Cool! :)

Have fun with the bathroom... :cyclops: ;)
