Anyone watching the Pope mass? I normally don't watch stuff like this but it's a big event.

I was very young when a previous Pope visited Chicago and said Mass. It is a big deal even for jaded Catholics like me. I didn't see the mass but did make a point of watching the other festivities. I did like the respect he showed yesterday by being very low key out of respect for the highest holy holiday for those of the Jewish faith. I really am bonding with this Pope, he marches to his own drummer, he seems to have a grasp on reality.

One Million Moms apparently thinks the new Muppets is too risque. I don't remember the Muppets during the 80s but where were they then?

You can't please everyone. Get over it.

I let my kids watch it, you are older than mine so I'm surprised you didn't trip across them in your youth. Miss Piggy always has been a forward lady and had a way of saying things....Kermit was slightly more discrete but yep he made his feelings known. Me after observing my small kids, most of it sailed right over their heads.

Many didn't like Rugrats for the undertone of the episodes. I loved Rugrats when my kids were small. I laughed at parts my kids had no clue about. I think that is a well crafted show. It appeals on many age levels unlike Barney.

These are more than likely the same people who watch Teen Mom and the Karadashian garbage.

My good friend kinda turned into a million mom with her 5 kids. Sadly it backfired with all of her kids when they became young adults. As parents we need to pick and choose when and how often we draw that line in the sand. We all grew up big fans of Disney. We also spent our October youth visiting haunted houses around the area on weekends. With her kids they could not ride the Haunted Mansion, trick or treat or visit local haunted houses. Me as a Mom I didn't sweat the stuff. I held those cards for when I really needed to say NO!

I'm squeeing because we just booked our Disney trip. 10 days at CBR with the Dining plan, free memory maker, free $100 gift card, 14 day tickets for the price of 7, and we'll stay for a couple of extra nights with my friend in Kissimmee and since we have 14 day tickets, we can go to the parks for those days, too, so we basically have 2 weeks at Disney. I am sooooo EXCITED. It seems so much more real now that I have it booked, with a confirmation number.
Congrats and ENJOY!!!!!!!! I'm sooooo happy for you! Longer Disney vacations are great! I just wished our trips overlapped as I'm not going until August

Wait a minute. You told us the day before that you were doing some deep cleaning. Now you've changed your story to painting. The plot thickens . . . :cautious:
It started out as cleaning. Then while I had everything out of the room I had my dh add an electrical outlet and I spackled all the dings on the wall. There were a few too many dings just to touch up so off to the paint store. hopefully the room will be finished tonight. While my dh is home he's going to add some outlets elsewhere in the house as well.

I don't get why they're upset. The basic plot was released quite a while ago and the commercials would lead anybody with 1/2 a brain to know it would be a more adult show. Blame the network, not the show if you don't like when it's on!

We're going from just off pure white to a mushroomy taupe or is that a taupey mushroom hoping the boy's fingerprints won't show as much.

Haven't a clue how this odd idea came to mind. It had something to do with fingerprints, but went beyond that.

Since you have kids of different ages, have you ever thought of having them put their hands in fingerpaint, for example, and then place a hand down on a piece of art paper, sign their name, and put their age?

They could do one group art piece together and frame it, or they could all do individual ones and frame them--as in a grouping of similarly styled and sized pictures, and hang on a wall. (It doesn't have to be in the livingroom, for example, but even in a back alcove, hallway, coat room off the kitchen, etc.) I was thinking that down the road when they grow into adults, this might be a really fun keepsake. :)
