Yup. Guy hit me when I was waiting to turn, got out of his car, said "Oh there's no damage" and I told him I wanted his information anyway. We had to get out of the flow of traffic, but instead of pulling over, he fled. Had to call 911, and since I was in pain, the officer called a medic, who told me that the ER was recommended.

I can't win lately.

Oh dear, this is awful. First of all, I'm hoping you will be fine in a few days. I just read your further post on the next page about this accident, and see that you have a mild concussion as well. I hope you can go home and just curl up in bed and sleep. Make sure the cat comes in to comfort you, too.

It's infuriating that the other guy just took off. People are scum. I suppose no one was able to get a description or license plate of the car--I imagine he split so quickly.

The cat will be all over me the minute I walk in the door. :cat:

The sad part is that this is now the second hit and run accident I've been in. The other one was when a guy ran a stop sign and hit me. That time the car was more damaged than me, I needed PT, but I think I'm more badly injured this time. They never caught the guy.

I got a description of the guy and knew the color of his car and that it was an SUV, and he damaged his tag in the accident. It's now bent. And there could have very well been a camera nearby as he went near a mall. So we'll see.

Ended up going to a different hospital than I usually go to for my asthma. I actually think I like this one better...and it's not that far away from the one I usually go to (one great thing about this area is the amount of good hospitals around here).

Still, I'd rather be in Disney.

Sorry you're going through this mess, and right at the start of the school year. :( You certainly don't need this right now, or ever, actually. And, I sincerely hope they catch up with the creep who hit your car.

The bright side is that you'll be familiar with all the hospitals in the area, and can share your "reviews" with your friends and neighbors, who will be most appreciative of the information! ;)

Still at the emergency room. They want to x-ray my back. Had a ct scan of my head and neck. Have a mild concussion, no school tomorrow. Apparently, I also have mild degeneration and a slight bulging disc in my neck, but they're not sure it's related to this accident. My mom says my father and paternal grandmother both have neck problems, so it could be genetic. Probably will need PT after this (again).

I wish I were on a beach someplace now...

Oh my, you are certainly having a run of bum luck. I hope you feel better soon. Relax tomorrow and watch Frozen!:)

I LOVE the art of Mary Blair!! My goodness she was a legend, and her gorgeous tile works in particular, were spectacular. I'll always be in awe every time I see the dramatic, giant mural in the Grand Canyon Concourse of the Contemporary Resort at WDW.
Speaking of Mary Blair, in the Hong Kong Disneyland version of It's A Small World featured Marie during the France section.

Yes
In other news, my family really wanted to watch Beauty and the Beast, but we didn't own a copy. So I looked on Amazon, and the American Diamond Edition was (and probably still is) REALLY expensive. So instead I got the UK Blu-ray. Thank goodness BD-ROM is region free.

The movie came yesterday and we watched it. Haven't seen the movie in about 5-6 years and I thought it was amazing.

@ajrwdwgirl , you mentioned the other day how much you enjoy cooking, and if your teaching job ever ended, you might think about the bakery business. This reminded me of a guy I knew who was an architect, and got laid off from his job (close to 18 years ago), just before the Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday season. He was lucky that his wife was working, and they were able to live off her salary. But he wasn't the type of guy to just sit around and wait for interviews.

Since it was in mid-November, he had an idea to fill some of his time. He was from Germany and learned some wonderful Christmas cookie recipes from his mother. He baked a batch of some of his favorite hazelnut cookies, and put them in an attractive gift bag, and brought them to a local bakery. He asked the owner if she'd like to try some. The owner loved them! The owner asked him if he'd bake a few more batches, and she'd put them out on display to see how they'd sell. They sold out in hours, and people wanted more! So, from November up to Christmas, he baked hazelnut cookies (he used to crack open the shells of the nuts, and grind the hazelnuts up himself), and made some money--and kept busy, while agonizing over his job search. I think baking cookies helped save his sanity at that time.

In conclusion, if you're ever leaning toward a bakery business, maybe you could "try" a few items and take them to a local bakery to see how they sell. (The one variable here is that different states have different codes for kitchens used to make food for the public. You'd have to check your local ordinances on that.)

Yes, much debate and legislation/proposed ligislation regarding Texas Cottage Food Law has been happening here for about the last 5 years or so.
At this time, certain approved homemade (produced in a home kitchen, not subject to regular inspections, unless under cause) goods can be sold at places like farmers markets and such. But, they must be specially labeled as a homemade product, and all potential allergens must be listed.
No retail sales are allowed, as well as none over the internet to be shipped. You can, however, take orders over the internet from a website for your operation and deliver them to their location yourself. Also no net income earnings over $50,000 per year are legally allowed.
The "Home Processors" bill submitted in this past 2015 state legislative session that would have allowed retail and internet shipment sales, and expanded allowable product, didn't even get a committee hearing. Advocates say they'll try again during the 2017 session.
As a result, most just make financial allowances for the fact that they're going to have to secure a lease on an approved commercial kitchen, or find some way to open their own facility.
It can be done. So many success stories out there...! :)

Yes we're very posh! We have garden hoses in both the front and back of our house. Never mind scratch the posh, we didn't get all the Christmas lights down until March due to all the snow and cold!

Woohoo! for the Posh Club. May I submit my application. I have 3 garden hoses, 2 out back, one of which has hot-cold-warm choices and one up front. A year ago after our blizzard our plastic 3 foot (each) 5 Mickey & Friends light up Christmas friends were buried and then frozen to the ground until Valentines day when I dragged out the hose, turned on the hot water and melted them free.

The guy who took my information at the ER told me he got a dashcam due to the amount of idiots in the area. Not surprising. The other day, I was out with my friend near my other school, and we were going from the mall to the movies and only planned to take one car to save on parking. She offered to drive, but I told her since she wasn't used to driving in that area (she lives an hour away) that it was better for me to drive. She kind of grinned at me and said, "This is your way of tactfully telling me I'm a bad driver." Well, yes, she's a horrible driver (I told her this more nicely) but the drivers in that area are also terrible, as I illustrated twice in a ten minute period while driving over there when I used my horn once and had to slam on the brakes another time. And then today I texted her and said, "Remember what I said about the horrible drivers near me?" I never used my horn until I started going to my other school and driving there on a regular basis.

So, I'm wondering if these older gentlemen think you're pretty, and just want to strike up a conversation? ;)

Oh, for the heck of it, I asked hubby if anyone ever asked him that question, "Who's walking who?" when he's out walking with the dog. He laughed, and said, yes! He said that he always tells whoever asks him, that it's the dog who's walking him! (Just thought I'd share that--the question, while silly--is apparently gender neutral, so I guess you and I aren't being singled out by male strangers from the lonely hearts club. o_O :p :D )

As for your walk with Walt, that was very interesting about the coyote. You know, they're big stalkers and very cagey. Doesn't surprise me in the least that the coyote appeared, disappeared, and reappeared. He was stalking Walt for some distance, and Walt's size didn't scare him away; the people and other noises did. Good thing his pack wasn't with him. (Then again, his pack could have been hiding . . .)

With regard to the creepy guy that spooked both you and your DD, yah, get away fast. I'm always on guard when I'm out alone, and trust my instincts; if a situation doesn't feel right, I bolt.

Awe, nicest thing said to me today. Thanks. :):)

Coyotes here are not all that big. They tend to take out toy type pups. This Coyote was certainly high tailing it away from Walt as Walt is easily twice his size. It is weird though to see a coyote at 10 in the morning. I've seen them near dawn and dusk but never during the day, he was near Mr. McGreggors Garden, the man has a massive garden and huge pumpkin patch. Walt upset his plans I think for a late breakfast.

Yeah the guy was spooky. We pass enough people but this dude just didn't fit the riverwalking type, stopped and was pretending to look at his phone and we were on the same walkway so we'd have to walk right up to him and past him. We took the fork which gave us 10 feet and wiggle room. Walt believes all humans are for his enjoyment so when he objected it just confirmed my DD and my instincts. I often walk the riverwalk alone during the summer months as there are always people wandering about, once school starts again I will only go with someone or during likely times others are about. There are rural paths out in the marshes. I only go out there in groups. Creepity and very tall walls of plants. Nobody ever hear ya scream out there.
