This one person I know, whenever she sees me, it's always, "How are you feeling?" "How's your asthma?" "What happened here?" "Weren't you injured last year too?" "Oh, you poor thing!" She asked me what happened to my hand for the third time. Finally, I smiled and said I'd rather not discuss it. She moved on to talking about school. I'd rather talk about that. Don't need the reminder that yes I am injured and yes I have a chronic condition that often makes me feel like total carp. I feel like saying, "Could we talk about something else? You know I'm a fan of cats? I've got one; she's pretty cool."

The above scenario would be so much better like this:

You're nice. :inlove:

My experience is they are generally men 10-20 years older than me and it is said not as an icebreaker but more obnoxiously, thinking also that they are clever. Funny thing is I likely have the best trained Pup on a leash.

Around 10 am this morning I was out with DD and Walt on riverwalk and my DD suddenly is said---What is he focusing in on, he was intense. Sure enough about 150 feet was a coyote looking just intensely at Walt, so we all calming kept walking slowly towards him and I can sense Walt getting in that lets chase the squirrel in the yard mode and the coyote got on the riverwalk and picked up his pace skedaddling down the path and out of sight. Unnerved my DD, Walt went back to smelling trees. About 4 blocks up when we were hitting the footbridge there was the coyote again out in the grass field. Walt stopped and stared and the coyote again got on the path and disappeared around the bend. Guess just the sight of Walt being so much bigger than the coyote was enough to scare him off. We took the other path over the bridge where we came up upon a man who creeped both my DD and I out and then Walt started to bark at him. We were in an open area so we took the opposite path and went out to Road.

Oh my! I would have been scared to see the coyote. I probably would have picked up my little dog and walked (swiftly) in the other direction. You and Walt are brave!

For us ST geeks this means you @StarWarsGirl95 it seems the original model of the Enterprise (the one used in the original TV series) will be on display starting next year in the Air and Space museum. Depending on when I may just have to make a side trip on the way to or from Disney:cool::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull:

Wow! That's really fascinating. I'm more of a "casual" ST fan, but even I find that very impressive and fun!

@MinnieM123 my wish for you today is that Elsa would visit you and give you your own personal flurry while I 'm enjoying the glorious 3 Hs

Hotter than h _ _ _ out there today!!! I'm thinking that Elsa snubbed me, because I didn't get any flurries like you wanted me to . . . perhaps she's aware of some of the negative things I've said about Frozen?! :p

It reminds me of the art style by Mary Blair. Also the art style reminds me of this Japanese music video starring Marie.

I LOVE the art of Mary Blair!! My goodness she was a legend, and her gorgeous tile works in particular, were spectacular. I'll always be in awe every time I see the dramatic, giant mural in the Grand Canyon Concourse of the Contemporary Resort at WDW.

Is it my imagination, or has traffic slowed down on this thread a little bit?

Do you mean the site is slow? Or, if you're referring to post counts--I don't think the number of posts has gone down at all, but maybe that's just me. I always am trying to keep up on this thread because I thought it moved quickly. I'm on her usually twice a day, and some days it takes a while to get through it all.

My like was a sympathy like. How terrible to get rear ended, and then to have the jerk flee the scene! Hopefully karma comes back to bite him in the rear! Are you doing okay now?
Still at the emergency room. They want to x-ray my back. Had a ct scan of my head and neck. Have a mild concussion, no school tomorrow. Apparently, I also have mild degeneration and a slight bulging disc in my neck, but they're not sure it's related to this accident. My mom says my father and paternal grandmother both have neck problems, so it could be genetic. Probably will need PT after this (again).

I wish I were on a beach someplace now...

So, I'm wondering if these older gentlemen think you're pretty, and just want to strike up a conversation? ;)

Oh, for the heck of it, I asked hubby if anyone ever asked him that question, "Who's walking who?" when he's out walking with the dog. He laughed, and said, yes! He said that he always tells whoever asks him, that it's the dog who's walking him! (Just thought I'd share that--the question, while silly--is apparently gender neutral, so I guess you and I aren't being singled out by male strangers from the lonely hearts club. o_O :p :D )

As for your walk with Walt, that was very interesting about the coyote. You know, they're big stalkers and very cagey. Doesn't surprise me in the least that the coyote appeared, disappeared, and reappeared. He was stalking Walt for some distance, and Walt's size didn't scare him away; the people and other noises did. Good thing his pack wasn't with him. (Then again, his pack could have been hiding . . .)

With regard to the creepy guy that spooked both you and your DD, yah, get away fast. I'm always on guard when I'm out alone, and trust my instincts; if a situation doesn't feel right, I bolt.
