Some professors are idiots. My first semester in Chemistry, beginning Chem. I got a Noble Prize Winner, I swear he was saying English, but I didn't understand a word that came out of his mouth from day one. Pretty much, the whole class ended up with a D. There was one guy that got a C. That was a class of 700. I took another Chemistry Class with another professor and got an A. Some people just don't know how to teach. Rant over.

Must be something with Chemistry professors, mine didn't know how to teach at all either. Luckily I was pretty good at Chemistry and I was able to teach myself from the textbook.

I wish my professor retired early (or checked out) ,;) !

I did have a Geology professor that died after our first class with him. I had heard good things about him, but had also heard he was really tough. The first assignment he gave us was putting together these 3D crystals, and I spent a lot of time putting them together. I am not good at puzzles and putting things together so it was difficult for me. Then I went to class and found out he died and the assignment wasn't graded! I was mad about that but obviously sad that he had died. My college quickly found someone to replace him and she turned out to be really good and a fun professor.

I'm not a seafood person either, but the exception is fried clams, which they have on certain days of the week, so that might be good for us. Especially since they have pizza on the kids buffet! I'm finding it difficult to find places where we would love to eat and that DS will find something he'll eat. He's so picky. If we could use table service credits for counter service meals for him, we'd be golden because we could just go to whichever restaurant we wanted and buy him a counter service meal elsewhere.

My DD doesn't eat seafood either and that is the buffet she picked for her mother daughter trip for her 16th Birthday. She has plenty to eat there, she loves Salad, the Meat Carving station is real good meat, the chicken is OK but the pasta is usually very good. Veggies are usually pretty standard buffet offerings as are the desserts since they got rid of those Oreo bon bons, sadness.

Me I am a table service gal over buffets, I don't enjoy that while we are dining someone is always bouncing up and down to go back and forth to the buffet. Basically if I am going to pay for service I don't like to self serve but that is an individual preference. When we go there I usually like to go on the fried shrimp day, plus I love crab legs so I put up with the buffet for my fishy goodness.

I learned my housework habits from my mom; she would get up early and do all her housework in the morning and prep the dinner for at night and then she would relax after lunch. The afternoons were hers to watch soaps, knit, or read.
I'm thinking of doing that myself, usually I nap, as I'm starting to get tired in the afternoon. But, maybe I can watch a movie or read , reading always puts me to sleep though.;)

I never had one die while they were my instructor but one was removed for being lets say a little too familiar with a student. Next Bio instructor was easier to follow his expectations.

My worst project ever was building a catapult to toss a golf ball. If that was annoying enough it was graded in order by which students golf ball landed closest to the given target. So a sliding on downward the grade scale. Funny the things that we remember.

While I was too old for Sesame Street it was ground breaking for Children's TV. Prior to that it was mostly old men entertaining small children. Sesame Street went at it a whole different way. As time went on it only got better minus the duds. My kids had very different taste in TV programming. My DS liked to be entertained while my DD liked the shows that taught something after she got over the annoying purple Dinosaur.

Funny, I really hated Barney and I tried to limit her viewing of Barney shows and VHS tapes to keep my own sanity. My Mom was annoyed with that. She left my house and came back with a small TV with a built in VHS player for my 2 year olds room so she could watch Barney anytime she wanted to. Oddly I think I was 16 years old before I had a TV in my room at my folks home.

Yep, I was too old for Sesame Street and The Electric Company, as well. But, I ended up watching them quite a bit 'cause of my younger sibs.

All 3 of our kiddos loved Barney. We even went to see the touring show twice when it came to town.
He made them happy, so that made us happy. ;)

I was way to old for the SS and TEC as well, but, my kids weren't. So I got pretty familiar with them. I'm happy that by the time that Barney came out, they were to old themselves. Otherwise I might have had to put them up for adoption.

When I went to my nephew's wedding in Warsaw, IN, this summer their WalMart had buggy parking. The only time I've ever seen that before was at WalMarts and Giant Eagles in Amish country near us.

I've been stuck trying to go around buggies near my Sis too from just west of Cleveland, in Cleveland and east of Cleveland seemed to be the worst. It is a bit surreal the first few times it happens.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I need a sign that says, "Before you ask, I tore a ligament in my thumb. No interesting story to go with it. Yes it hurts. No, I don't want to talk about it."
Or ... you could just make up an interesting story.
Geesh, you're no fun now that you've reached your 20's.

If my dad were still here, he would have a dozen stories for you to share - each more outrageous than the one before. And all G or PG rated.

I'm so not my Mom when it comes to household chore habits. My Mom was compulsive with her cleaning and order. She still at 80 tries to maintain that expectation but I can see the difference. My Dad recently said to her you seem to create work that really doesn't need to be done. He wasn't far off but she doesn't see that.

But I do get the most accomplished early in the day. By mid afternoon I am likely to cook or take care of plants but the really chores tend to get accomplished early on.

I have my 9th graders build a catapult in which they have to launch a marshmallow at me as part of the simple machines unit. I don't mind getting hit with those and they think it is fun.

So HAPPY for you and your son!!! :) :joyfull: :joyfull: (On the other side of the coin, I'm so JEALOUS!! :bawling: :banghead: )

It was a blast!
It was hot and loud as heck the whole flight, especially loud during takeoff, but that just added more authenticity to the experience. We also had sound protection headphones at our disposal as we felt the need.
Once we leveled off we were able to unbuckle and move around to take pics and video.
Also, up towards the c o c kpit, there was a pair of noise canceling headphones with a mic available, and I had about a 5 minute conversation with the pilots.
Sooo cool...! :)
