Last year was AP English, Calc B/C and Physics, which is now divided in 1 and 2. Next year is AP Stats and AP physics Calc based. The English I am actually worried about. The work load for that one class almost killed him last year, so he is taking a comp class and Speech instead. There are no Honors classes available for English after Sophmore year. He may very well be going from complex analysis to a primer on how to write a sentence. If it is, that kid is going to be bored.

English I think really depends on the teacher. I had a really easy senior year English class. Really, we did basically nothing the second half of the year. I think I had a 99.9 in it. I still got a four on the AP in spite of doing very little. That being said, your son could probably take and do well on the AP English exams with little more than a review book. They are based more upon what you've learned all four years of high school, not just your senior year. The honors English classes (at my school, it was standard, honors, and GT, Gifted and Talented, for English the first two years, then GT dropped off and it was AP. AP and GT classes were worth the same amount as a weighted GPA) were often just as much, if not more, work than AP. Especially senior year.

I would be pretty worried about AP stat. I mean, he's obviously good at math, but when I was in high school, everyone complained about stat. They made that exam even worse a few years ago. And I took it in college...and complained the entire way through. Those who knew me and were on this thread remember.

OK, so I didn't want to mention this 'til I knew it was really real, and we've gotten our hopes up too many times since November. But, the mortgage company DWifey has now been temping for on a 90 day temp-to-hire deal, bought out her contract and hired her as a permanent employee after only a month-ish...with, no joke, a 25% raise...!!!!!!!

I'm more of a "less is more" kind of girl.

This is precisely why I rarely ever go to theaters anymore. Between the fools chatting with their pals, some with their phones ringing during the movie, and others turning on their bright phone screens in a dark movie theater--it's all way too distracting. I'm not paying movie ticket prices to be annoyed like that.

I'm the opposite. As others will attest, I pretty much ONLY see movies in theatres. It's the big screen or no screen for me.

I know you love the BCV but what was your thoughts on staying at "the new" Poly?

Well, let's start with the positives:
Studio was nice and big. Featured two showers and a single bed that pulled down from the wall, so my brother was not stuck on his air mattress (although he doesn't mind so much). The two showers thing was great. Needed a bigger kitchenette, though. The food is really good, and it's easy to get to both MK and Epcot via the monorail.

Now let's get to the negative.

I'm the wrong person to ask about the resort's design. I used to think it was so beautiful and great...then they built Aulani. Honesty, it felt like Fake Hawaii...and it still does. It felt even more after the refurb like they have been trying to copy Aulani...and failing.

Other issues: we had a few major issues with the room. Our air conditioner was dripping...and they never fixed it. Had the same issue at Hilton Hawaiian three years ago. They fixed it right away and offered to let us switch rooms, which we didn't, but it was still a nice offer. And we had ants in the room. My mom sprayed her disinfectant and killed most of them. They said that room would go out of service once we were done with it. But still.

And last but not least, the monorail closing earlier or at the same time as MK is annoying. Really wish they would replace the monorail fleet.

We are thinking of staying there again in Jan, though. The room size alone is really what we need. Hopefully some of the issues will have been ironed out by then. We'll give it one more shot. But it didn't blow me away. Contemporary is nicer by a long shot.

Oy Ants. That would have been enough for me to move. I like the Murphy bed idea, out of the way but a real bed. We are like you guys a boy and girl so by a certain age we needed another bed. The trundles only worked when my DD was small. She also had that fear of her Dad stepping on her. The Contemporary worked well as their Daybed was a twin, she liked that and the square footage of the rooms at the Contemporary was great. I was excited initially with the announcement of the Poly rehab but I'm not finding that many reviews of guests that are all that excited. The Bungalows will likely never be in my price bracket. I will likely just continue to visit the resort for the food.

I've been to Estes Park! That's a nice area up there. Colorado is a gorgeous state, with very distinct, different regions.

I love Colorado, it is amazing and the one place I like more in the winter with snow. I cringe as I look at that river that is now a major pollution hazard since last week to the state.

This was up in Concord, I-93 North. You might possibly be correct about a recessed broken water line running under the highway; but last time I checked the update, the officials up there indicated that they didn't have a clue what caused the sinkhole.

The truly amazing part about the situation this afternoon, was that no cars drove over that space when the road suddenly caved in, and miraculously, no one was injured. That's a heavily trafficked section of 93 (exits 13 and 14) adjacent to New Hampshire's capitol city, on a regular business day. Unreal.

My DH drove over the end of the road turning from the main road. As soon as his TownCar passed over a 12' x 12' x 20' sink hole caved in. He just cleared it. It was a Friday and Public works had gone home so it took a while for them to come look as the Sheriff guarded the sink hole. A contractor fed/tunneled a new sewer line under the main road (we had ditches prior to that) and never backfilled in what they hollowed out for the sewer line.

So back in the day like around 15 years ago, I was playing baseball. A grounder came up a hit my finger (index finger) straight on. Needless to say, I had to have a splint on it. But it must of not healed correctly because it pains every now and then. Fast forward to yesterday, I felt a sharp pain in that finger and today I noticed that if I put my hand flat, I can feel (as in touching my knuckle with my fingers) a little ball or something moving at the top of my knuckle. Granted I could have had it for years and I never noticed.

Cause for concern or just go see a doctor whenever?

The Mom in me says go to an orthopedic doc and have an xray taken. Something that could have been hang'n on for dear life might have broken loose. Never want a bone fragment ripping up a tendon or ligament.
