It always amazed me how long and flat the beaches are in the East coast.
I'm used to see mountains nearby or at least some cliffs with tons of stones.

Yep, the entire Texas coast is pretty much all flat, but, still very nice. :)
Very different from some of the beaches we used to go to in No Cal.
Also, the water in Cali. is much cooler.
The water at the coast here is as warm as bath water, in the heat of the day, this time of year.

Hey there! Are you still trying to ketch up? :)

I've pretty much given up on the ketch up, for now anyhow.
I believe I'm over 100 pages behind, at this point.
Still without a laptop (need to get it to SIL to see if he can fix the issue before we buy another one - we really just need to buy 2 - one for me and one for DWifey :)), an hour or so at lunch here at the office on the desktop just isn't enough time, and it's too hard to keep up from my phone. :bored:
Doesn't mean I won't give it another shot at some point in the future, though...! ;) :)

I
I obviously see the "Pedro" differently. That doesn't make me right, but, no one has explained why this should be offensive especially in light of why it is there and how it is handled. Also, if not intended or even slanted toward belittling anyone then I see it as overreaction to an innocent situation. Not everything is a slam on other people unless we make it be that.

I gave the example yesterday of Chief Illiniwek at the University of Illinois. Basically the Universities Mascot with the permission of the tribe. Illiniwek is gone basically because using any stereo type of any given race as a Mascot is frowned upon where it was all marketing in the 1950s and a common practice.

Pedro to me is really not any different. A white businessman creates a mascot for his business. The Mascot was not a white, Jewish man like he was. He created Pedro in a 50s stereo typical depiction of a Mexican, poncho, huge mustache and a mega poncho.

In both cases I can understand why Native Americans and Mexicans might find these stereo typical mascot depictions of their races for marketing offensive. We will have to agree to disagree on this one.

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.

Well here is a quick summary for you.
Everyone on the thread is awesome and @figmentfan423 is cooking us all a cactus supper for when it next snows.

Hmpf. ;) Think I've been suggesting this for years, one year at bonus time I remember suggesting matching pink and blue laptops.
Now with skins I think a Donald and Daisy skin for the dual laptops would be cute. :inlove:

All appliances suck, dishwasher is on it's last legs, as well as stove, and refrigerator. They all failed at once, and are failing again at once. I see a pattern here, I had whirlpool, GE, Samsung. This time I'm looking for something from Europe, sis has had good luck with hers.

How old were they?

I had my last dishwasher for 26 years, it was a Whirlpool. I tossed a perfectly operating Maytag washing machine that was 35 years old. It was just such a tiny capacity.

Sympathy like. My dh just replaced the water pump on my dishwasher. Other than that it's holding up well! My dishwashers get lots of work as everything has to go through, no risking just a hand washing here! It's a Bosch and I'm happy. My MIL has a Kenmore she can't seem to kill and my mom has a Kitchen Aid that's been around forever. Good luck

Last August I bought a Bosch dishwasher. I really like how quiet it is and how it doesn't release heat into the room. What I like the best is that 3rd rack slammed up on the top. All that tiny stuff I was never able to put into a dishwasher. Wish I had that 3rd rack when my kids were babe's. It took me a while to wrap my brain around the $1000 price tag though before I finally took the plunge.
