Short break I am giving myself. For about a week I am trying to weed out and reorganize space in the house. Between ManChilds stored items and all of my DDs stuff from college, it is not working. So I am re-arranging 4 rooms downstairs on a mega level, with some help from my DD. Also doing purges but most of that upstairs will happen after the first year.

So I am now for the most part 2 days behind here and likely skipped some stuff.

It's funny. All my FB friends are complaining about the cold and snow (expecting another small storm to bring a few more inches tonight), but everyone's posts end with "at least it ain't Buffalo!"

I always remember the comments about Buffalo, not all of them referring to weather either.

Nah, it's just been a bad year. Prior to this year, I hadn't broken a toe in a decade plus.
I hate shoes - heel spurs. I hate socks - dunno why.

I am seriously still in wonder that you all sport footwear indoors.
When it's cold, I may slip on a pair of fluffy socks and/or slippers, but generally my tootsies are bare. Of the five of us, Hubby is the only one who actually wears socks all day.

On another note, where you at, Missy? Has @StarWarsGirl95 chimed in today?
ETA - The Search function indicates she has been MIA since Sunday evening.

Look at the injuries in short order to your feet, if you had real footwear on your feet you might be spared broken bones, even slip on backless shoes would protect those toes and as we age they just become more brittle and the breaks fill in with arthritis.

I'm willing to vacuum, wash hardwood and clean rugs more frequently and spare my toes. :) Bonus they are warm in the cold climate. As much as you are in disbelief of shoes in a house I am in equal disbelief that our age you are comfortable with the trade off of broken body parts. ;)

@DVCPluto Re: Thanksgiving Dinner - We have now been going out to Thanksgiving dinner for 28 years now. My advice is to look for a place for a meal now and make reservations quickly, you can always cancel. It is pretty rough to find restaurants open on Thanksgiving. We usually go to high end steak houses and they also give you the choice of various meats including turkey (for your DH). But my concern for you is there are so few open on Thanksgiving and reservations fill quickly that you should track something down now, there are far more restaurants open on Christmas Day than Thanksgiving.

Because the floors are more important than your toes? ;)
Yes.
And it's just not something I've ever done in 47 years.
Not at home. Not at extended family's homes. Not at friend's homes.

I've never asked anyone to remove their shoes. It's just a given.
When I go open house hunting on Sundays, it's automatic.

And yes, my floors are more important than my tootsies.

Hubby needed the suitcases to take back to storage.
The cleaning lady needed everything moved so she can clean my office.
I have no idea where to put the last of the stuff right now - so into the hamper it goes.

Storage locker or to the basement for storage?

Apparently, not going anywhere, anytime soon.

They are getting socked like we did in 2011. In the Buffalo area I've seen motorists help both ambulance get going, an armored truck and Niagara College team of women stranded and stuck. The students were out of food and there were staff baby children on bus too (watch Frozen) and people made the track through blizzard to get them food.

They've made it back after 30 hours on the bus.

Where are the floating condo's?

Funny tastes in art. Yours and @JenniferS both are creepity to me, I am a Norman Rockwell fan myself. I do get a kick out of one that JenniferS posted, showing how "handsy people were in that artists mind. Very touchie feelie.
That first pic (the touchy-feely one) was a Renoir.
The second was one of my favourites called "The Calmady Children" by Sir Thomas Lawrence.
And the third was Water Lilies by Monet.

I had a framed print of the Calmady Children hanging in my bathroom for more than 20 years. Sadly, it fell last year, and the smashed glass shredded the print.
