Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
It was 30 at our house last night with a wind chill of 18. Supposed to get down to 24 tonight, breaking the previous record of 27 for this date. No snow predicted, and no word yet on how cool the wind chill might make my TSSFFBR tonight... ;) :)

ETA:
It's 37 here, right now.

Were both at that cold is cold. 25, feels like 15, low of 22. Problem is DH has not pulled the auxilary A/C units, my room is so freak'n cold. Supposed to get measurable snow on Saturday and Sunday. Joy Joy

The tollway here is building a new tollway in N. IL. They are trying to get some items off the bucketlist before the ground is solid. They have priorities due to some freak'n law over the mega haul trucks. Problem is the loads of salt are coming off the barges and there are not any trucks to haul the salt up to anywhere North. This is going to be a game changer.

AAA Diamond Parking turned out to be a bit of a bust this year, but the Diamond Savings Card came in handy. I saved 10% on all my purchases at World of Disney, and 15% at the DTD Basin.
I saved almost $45 on this stash:

In case you can't read the labels, I have a preferred fragrance - Pink Sugar.
All trip photos to the contrary, I am a girly-girl.

The soaps are Christmas gifts for my SIL's and adult nieces.
A couple of years ago, when my dad was dying, I simplified my gift giving for all my siblings, their spouses, and nieces and nephews. Everyone gets one small wrapped gift and a crisp $50 bill.

Obviously, I put a little more (okay a lot more) effort into gifts for Hubby and the boys.
I wonder, are the savings real or they were "eaten" by price hikes? on the same products?

The one on the left is Penny (BBT), and the more vibrantly coloured one is Max (Two Broke Girls).

A couple of years ago, in the space of 6 months, we lost our shih-tzu to cancer, my mother (suddenly and unexpectedly), and our 13 1/2 year old cat, Jack.
Bringing new pets in helps to fill the void a bit.
I really hate that "domino effect".

I fear it might soon happen to my family.
My father for example, passed after all his 10 very close friends died one after another.
The irony was.. my dad was supposed to die first due of a heart defect (they gave him like 1 year to live.. and he ended living 30 more)

I read that yesterday! I was trying to figure out where it was in relationship to your region and promptly gave up on my quest. lol.

I have too many purses as I only carry one a handful of times each year. Now shoes, I work for shoes.
honstly, I'm mere 5 minutes from where the park will be.
It will probably give a big boost in tourism.

I'm still surprised Disney or other park company hasn't tried to use the available land for parks too (or in the Cancun area).

Hmm, maybe it depends on your interpretation of " . . . who told us we could do anything we want." When I read that, I thought to myself that probably every generation was raised hearing that. My interpretation is that if you put your mind to something, you will find a way to succeed. That was my first thought.

My second interpretation, was that a generation was raised without any boundaries, and think that they're entitled to anything we want.

So, which one of the above were you referring to? (There's no right or wrong answer to that, I'm just curious about what you thought it meant.)
I think they older ones failed on deliver a proper message, and also the young (current adults) failed to understand the message as well.
its not "Do anything you want"
Its "You can be anything you want if you put effort into it".
huge difference imho!

Oh Wow! That will be so cool! Yeah, it would be a good place for Disney yet Mexico isn't all that far from DL or WDW and they might just be pulling guests away from the other parks. Might not be a Win Win

Yeah, it is a sentence that is not taken out of context it is a sentence plucked without any context. That is why I asked what I did.

Look at you, being all logical.
I think a Mexico-based Disney park would cannibalize a lot of the South American visitors.

Which would make me do a Happy Dance, I had enough issues with them this past trip. Manners people! But to the Disney bean counters, you have twice the expense and less revenue at WDW or DL. I'd be surprised if it happened.
Then with everything our Cesar says with the Police down there...maybe when and if all that gets under control.

Did I mention I like bracelets?

All three pieces from "Something Silver" @ DTD, for just under $400.
I couldn't decide which bracelet, so when I asked Hubby to pick one, he said "Both".

And before y'all go thinking he's completely perfect, just remember that he wouldn't come into the Frozen Singalong thing at DHS. Either time.

Gotta respect a Man that knows where to draw the line in the sand.
