No. I'm actually looking at getting one. My mattress is failing. And let's face it, I'm five feet tall and questioning why I ever let anyone talk me into a tall box spring/bed frame.
I thought you might've want this $21.00 coffee:
I read it wasn't the case for Door County. The following battled spring on the first day of Spring:
@donaldtoo -- an update on the money grab. Below is the (Mecum company message) for switching away from MotorTrend, to ESPN+. I disagree with it on a few levels, one of which is an almost disrespect for their loyal buyers who kept this auction going (regardless of age). The other is that I've seen (on the TV broadcasts) many younger people enjoying the auctions; it's not just one demographic there.)

(To clarify, it's ESPN+ , not the regular ESPN channel.) Perhaps Mecum's move might bring in (some) new viewers, but it's far from their demo market on MotorTrend (and various other cable channels, they used previously).
As for Kissimmee, that auction has been held there yearly since 1999, and it's one of the largest. It's already so well known, that many are aware how close it is in proximity, to WDW.
Scanning through various message boards this morning, Mecum's switch over to ESPN+ has gone over like a wet blanket. If they put the auction on the original ESPN network, (which a number of people already have), it might not have been so bad. But for them to pick an $11.99 a month PAY subscription service -- just to watch a handful of auctions each year, infuriated folks -- myself included. Instead, the scuttle was that some folks are switching their viewing preferences over to the other mega auction company, Barrett Jackson, which broadcasts on more available channels.
I watched some of the YouTube coverage (on my phone . . .Oh yea, I’ve seen the younger folks in the audience many times…usually about 10 times out of 10 sitting with parents, or, more often, what appear to be grandparents, who are the ones that can actually afford the cars…!!!!!
So many young folks theses days, not necessarily through any fault of their own, can’t afford rent or a mortgage, much less a $75,000+ classic car, for example.
Maybe there’s some thought of inheritance here, regarding Mecum’s thinking, as in not just the cars themselves to auction off through them again, but also money to buy more cars through them again, over the coming years…!!!
Either way, I’m not paying $11.99/mo. to watch an occasional auto auction just because it has more appealing camerawork and commentary.
YouTube is good enough for me…!!!![]()
I've seen some of the B-J auctions. Just like Mecum, I go to the web sites to find out when they're having their next one, and the TV schedule as well. (B-J has the fun, chassis-cam!) Of the two, I'm more partial to Mecum, but whatever.I saw Barrett-Jackson auctions before I knew who Mecum was. They’ve both been around for a while now, though…Barrett-Jackson founded 1967, Mecum founded 1988.
Apparently, Barrett-Jackson auctions can be seen on The History Channel, but I’ve never seen them advertised before…
Will hafta’ keep a closer eye out…!!!![]()
I watched some of the YouTube coverage (on my phone . . .) yesterday afternoon -- it was better than the first day -- more camera angles, more focus on the auctioneers (plus, they listed the name of each auctioneer as they traded off the mikes to one another), so that was a welcome sight. They also followed the vehicles a lot longer down the (runway) floor area, similar to previous shows, like MotorTrend.
Because the coverage was better yesterday, I kept half wondering if the Youtube piggybacked off the ESPN+ feed; I may be wrong, but there was a step forward. (I still miss the 2 announcers they used to have on MotorTrend.)

Just checked B-J's web site -- April 24-26, in Palm Beach. (More details coming soon on their site.)I also noticed that the Barrett-Jackson website streams the auctions…!!!
And yes, I remember the chassis-cam…!!!!!
I just need to remember to go there for scheduling, so I can either stream the auctions there, or catch them on THC…!!!![]()
