My parents started letting me wander Epcot alone when I was 14 as long as they were in the park. Then at 15 I was allowed to go into Epcot when we were staying at Boardwalk or Beach Club. Then at 16/17 I was allowed to go into the parks myself and/or take my younger brother along (he's autistic and 6.5 years younger).as someone who usually goes to the parks with their family going alone simultaneously sounds like the most exciting thing possible and the most terrifying thing possible
I'm keeping it all in my house.@StarWarsGirl may have brought the warmth back from Florida for one day, but theres chances of snow this week and next
The only time I think I’ve really gone somewhere on my own at Disney was late last year we were doing a Christmas Dino land farewell tour and I was trying to see everything I could my little brother was playing in the woolly mammoth dig which I hate cause the stupid sand always gets in my shoes so I asked my parents if could go over to the playground and look around there Side note when I got over to the playground a Christmas song from phineas and ferb called Christmas is starting now started playing from the speakers so that made me really happyMy parents started letting me wander Epcot alone when I was 14 as long as they were in the park. At 18, I traveled with a friend down to WDW and my dad paid (my AP was paid, airfare, hotel, food, and souvenirs were a high school graduation gift; he put me on a budget, lol. Friend's parents paid for her).
At 21, I went to California with that same friend and we went to Disneyland, then drove down to San Diego.
I've flown a bunch solo, down to my aunt in SC, to WDW, all the way to Hawaii and back, and taking my elderly grandmother and young cousins with me to SC as needed and being the responsible adult as well.
Then this past year (I'm 29, turning 30 at the end of April), I went to Boston for work solo (saw my coworkers one day, and I'd never been there), went to California, where I did the opposite drive from San Diego to Anaheim (and went to Sea World, Disneyland, and Knott's Berry Farm, and also did a bunch of stuff in San Diego), and I just did a few days in WDW alone before my parents and brother came down. I also have a season pass to Hersheypark in PA and will occasionally go there solo.
I do still live with my parents because getting cancer one year and having a pandemic hit the following year will completely derail your 20s and any plans to move out, but I'm still a pretty independent thing. Love traveling solo and doing the parks solo. Highly recommend doing it at some point in your 20s. It really builds your confidence up.
