First thought: Snoopy!! 💕💕
Second thought: is this a joke? It’s not Saturday. That Minnie is so funny.
Next thought: omg it is Saturday!

I stayed another night in the hospital, mostly my choice.

I have Nurse Ratchet stories when I have more energy. All the nurses were exceptional but this one hag yesterday lol.

I’m in the perfect moment of just the right position, ice pack, and Percocet that I don’t want to move and risk messing it up, even with breakfast staring me in the face.

Should be out around noon.

But first I’m booking the Delta Orlando Lake Buena Vista for mid-December. Will have to pay the higher price for our APs because I waited too long. 😆 🏰 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💕
Yes, you need to stay another day there until your meds wear off! ;) I hope you can go home tomorrow, as it's always nice to get back to your own place and relax. I'm sure they'll give you a script for the pharmacy. (Oh, can't wait to hear your Nurse Ratchet stories!) :joyfull:

Temps are decent here at 55 degrees. I helped dad put away some outside stuff that had to be put away due to time of the year such as fake flowers, lawn ornaments, fountains, and hoses.

It was about 55 or so here today and it was quite lovely sitting on my porch in the sun. Our temps look to stay in this range for the most part for the next 10 days, although it will be in the 70's on Monday and Tuesday and then Halloween will be about 48! Trick or treat I guess.

If I was fully remote, my second address would be traveling. Some would be vacation but most would be a remote office. Any physical mail I get that is important is only like one item a month, if that.
I'm actually on vacation, not working. California I would avoid working in just because of tax laws (although I just wouldn't tell anyone about it). Not worried about working remote in Florida or South Carolina, which is what I do a lot.

This is my first completely off for a week straight vacation that I've taken since starting this job. Accounting is weird when you work for a corporation; you get lulls where nothing is happening, and this is one of those periods. I glanced at my email briefly to see what hell awaited me upon return, and there wasn't really a lot. I've basically been able to completely check out from work.

I fly home overnight tomorrow though. 😭 I'm really tired, though. I've been super active and going going going.

I don’t come in here very often, but just spent a wonderful (hot) week in Palm Springs. I don’t know what it was about that town, but they LOVED us Canadians? Everyone was so kind, chatty, and sweet to us.

Joshua Tree Park is a wonder to behold. The weather (leaving on a very rainy atmospheric river weekend in Vancouver) a revelation, and the immaculate California mid-century vibes were just the best.

Some selections for your consideration:

I've been in CA for a week and people have been so very nice. I love how (especially in San Diego) everyone is just so laid back. I'm in DL right now, and the guests are just so much more chill than in WDW.

So friendly! And beautiful weather!!

But yes, all the cancer warnings are a bit much 😂

I was looking at a little snow globe in the gift shop at the aerial tramway, and it had a warning sticker on the bottom! I was like, what!? Should I be touching this? Do I need to eat it to be at risk? What does it meeaaan??

Kudos to CA for passing Prop 65 in regards to posting cancer warnings to raise awareness. As someone who has lost family and friends to cancer and some battling cancer , to me it is not a laughing matter.

Definitely not trying to laugh at cancer itself and its impacts. My family as well has been touched by it.

But it’s certainly jarring to come from a place where cancer warnings are reserved for things like cigarettes and alcohol, and to see it on something as basic as a small snow globe. Or all over Disneyland. Without any context.

Yeah, as someone who's had cancer, it's funny. And excessive.

Do you know what else causes cancer? The sun. Does CA want to put a warning on that as well?

Humans also need vitamin D. Know where that comes from? The sun. Which can cause cancer.

So we protect ourselves. With sunscreen. Know what sunscreen carries the risk of????

Obviously, if there's something we know causes cancer (cigarettes) then yeah, we should put that out there, but most people are gonna ignore these CA warnings.

Nice pictures. I really liked Palm Springs and Joshua Tree and I even went in the summer when it was super hot!

Uh, yeah, those warnings are funny. They don't do a dang thing if they're posted on everything.

Don't smoke, use sunscreen, get preventative screenings, and if you wanna do more, donate to research centers (not American Cancer Society).

The Fountains in question are heavy and need 2 people to lift them. One of them needed to moved due to it being location where my dad wants to put up the blow up Thanksgiving Turkey.

My mom can't help my dad with lifting the fountain due to her having bad back even before I was born and Dad has to be careful on how weight on lifts.
