I love thunderstorms. We never get any good ones near my house. Last year was a bust. Didn't really thunder at all.
til they hit near your house and get you powerless for a day.

anyway.. I love thunderstorms too. I used to sit in the balcony of my parents apartment to see the amazing lightning.

unfortunately, now live in a 2 story house... so no wide view anymore :(

A shortage of lady bugs is sad for me. My mother-in law, thought of lady bugs as a good luck symbol. I didn't think of lady bugs as any more than pest control. But, when I saw one, after MIL , passed...I always thought of her and her lucky symbol...she was such a sweet person. I miss her.:(
overuse of pesticides as usual.

Oh geeze! If I had to get off the computer everytime it thundered I'd never get anything done.

Here is the list of the best rated surge protectors.

or just get a UPC (no break).
That way even if power goes off, you can safely power off your computer.
or get extra running time for your laptop/tablet.

You're funny. My DS was like this for years, he didn't like touching his food. Made cheeseburgers interesting.

oh no.. I devour hotdogs and burgers with impunity.
I will still have to wash my hands like 10 times.. (my skin absorbs the smell of food :( )

I'm one of those that appreciates pictures from vacation perfect or not. Happy our friends are taking the time to post for us perfect or not, I don't look at them and see Failing Images, just nice members letting us peek into their vacations.

I kinda look at it, there are plenty of threads for the talented photographers that can critique the heck out of each others photos. I genuinely admire those photographs of those talented members. Here, I think we can just try and be nice, graciously accept what we get or nobody is going to want to post photos in this thread. My 2 cents anyhow.
this has nothing to do with talent Gabe.. the cell phone/camera is failing and this is a sign it might die soon.

time to sandbag the garage?

Could. I don't. Nothing in there is worth that labor and all is insured. The driveway use to be stone and absorbed much of the water or at least it went away quickly. Then our fine leaders of our Hamlet decided it would look prettier if everything was paved and concreted. We were given 3 years to comply. Now we have Lake Garage.
These properties were not developed over a half century for this. New builds have drainage plans. When we moved here the roads all had deep ditches next to the road on both sides. Then our fine leaders decided to put in curbs and storm sewers. Nobody every had water in their homes with the ditches. Water was all carried over to the preserves. It worked so they had to break it. We are fortunate, we have an ejector pit in our home where most in the area went for the substantially cheaper sump-pumps. I'm not a fan of fixing things that are not broken.

HAH!, seems we're opposite. I honestly hate having too much clothing.
Got way too used to summer weather almost all year along :p

I crave warm weather and sunshine. I can't imagine missing the cold and snow. If my dream does come true and move south someday I am sure it will take me a while to adjust to the humidity and dew points down there though.

And yet we have so many varieties of bees here, wasps, hornets bluck. They like my property, I have so many flowers and veggies. I do treat my lawn though so bugs don't bite the Pup.

I also spray for mosquitoes and today I did fog the gazebo because the spiders and little green bugs have invaded the gazebo due to all the rain. How they get through the screen? The bees I only knock off if they start building nests on the structures or in the ground. I did get my first mosquito bite today though. :cautious:
