More zoo pics. Cell phone reception is not particularly good inside the zoo, so I had to wait until I got home.

I did pet the goats. One was following me around the enclosure. Funny, I usually only have that happen with cats.

Apparently this eagle cannot be released back into the wild, so she is a permanent resident of the zoo.


These are apparently African penguins. They have 106 of them. They're a breeding colony, the largest of these breeding colonies for this species of penguin outside of Africa. They feed each one by hand twice a day. Quite a process. And there's a random seagull that sometimes (not intentionally) gets fed along with the penguins.

Bring a caregiver is a tough job but I'm glad its me taking care of my loved one instead of nursing home staff where you don't get the same level of care and service. Not even close.
